Again, this is the second booking for our group of 20 people. We had 9 kids in our group and Lorenzo was amazing in accommodating our needs.
We had a great time with our guide Lorenzo. We had two bookings of 10 people, so a total of 20 people in our group. Lorenzo was experienced, knowledgeable and super friendly.
Unfortunately, we were not able to do this tour. They informed us that it was canceled 16 hours before the tour was supposed to depart while we were in the middle of the sea. If we didn't happen to purchase the internet package in our cruise ship, we would have been left with nothing to do in the morning of. We understand they reserve the right to cancel at any time for luck of participation, however, the same thing happened in a different city and the company offered us a different tour that was very similar. This company, on the other hand, showed lack of regard for their customers. If you decide to book this tour please be aware you might end up in the same situation. We were lucky to find a similar excursion with our cruise ship but this is not always the case with less than 24 hours before you arrive in a port. My recommendation, if you book this tour, would be to have a plan B just in case.
We regret to hear that you were only able to access the internet 16 hours before the tour’s scheduled start time. The cancellation was made much earlier, in full accordance with TripAdvisor’s cancellation policy, giving you ample time to book one of the many similar options available on the website. When booking future activities through TripAdvisor, we strongly recommend checking your messages at least one day before the tour, as shared group tours may be cancelled due to an insufficient number of participants, as permitted under the operator’s terms. To avoid the risk of cancellation, please consider booking a private tour rather than a shared activity. Safe travels!
Lorenzo was fantastic. He kept us on time and had great knowledge of history from Ancient Rome to ww2. He was kind and curious and made the tour awesome even though the bus was a little hot. Definitely would recommend this tour!!!!
The guide was excellent. The problem was other patrons. We lost over an hour due to their late arrival and low mobility. It was disappointing to have paid for a full day and have most of our free time eliminated because of others booking the same tour.
Alex and Ricardo were best. Alex spoke good English and explained everything very clearly. This tour company was spot on communicating with us and tour to Florence and Pisa was very good in double decker bus.
The tour of Florence was very enjoyable, Pisa would be better to go on your own if you want to see it. I would have preferred spending more time in Florence, it was beautiful. It was a holiday for EUR so we knew there would be crowds and it didn't disappoint, the crowds were large. We were still able to enjoy the visit. Tripadvisor put together a very well organized tour.
The tour guide was nice, but did not provide much in the way of historical facts. The walk into Florence was over 2km, which is just too damned far. The bus could have dropped us off and then parked. Instead the bus parked, and made us walk. We only got about 1.5 hours of free time in Florence. Our bus was breaking down on and off throughout the first half of the tour and finally broke down in Florence. We had plenty of free time in Pisa, but again the drop off problem persisted. There was about a 1km walk into pisa.

Florence city center is closed to tourist buses, which is why the only option to explore it is on foot. 3. We did not have any issues with the bus. If it had broken down in Florence, how would you have made your way to Pisa and back to La Spezia? 4. The “Additional Information” section of the tour description clearly states that this tour involves a significant amount of walking and is not recommended for people with limited walking ability. Excellent experience concerning organisation and guide/driver (Alessandro/Marco).
This tour showed many amazing, historical buildings in Florence as well as many historical facts about Florence during the Renaissance. Be advised that the entire tour in Florence is a walking tour. We walked 5.78 miles over the course of a few hours. There was also no time to go inside any buildings.
