Exquisite Creatures Exhibit By Christopher Marley

The experience was incredible - my only complaint would be the lighting of the displays. Sometimes the lighting shadowed parts of the artwork.

Stunning! Nature is magnificent and the artist captures all of its beauty.

We saw a touring exhibit and this studio had some of the same pieces but many others. The video at the beginning talking about how he started on this path of art was interesting. It really showcased the beauty of insects and other creatures. Really cool!

The exhibit was fascinating. I love the fact that all the living things died of natural causes and the designs and colors were so beautifully and carefully appointed! It was awesome! Highly recommend.

I spent almost 6hrs in here. There are countless insects, birds, reptiles, and fish that I have only ever before seen in documentaries, books, or Pintrest up until this point, plants and animals that I never have laid eyes upon until visiting this unique exhibition; and I can't fully express how excited and emotional that made me. The ability to experience the diversity and beauty of the natural world up close, to take in each individual detail (from feathers, chitin pattern, scale, color, and shape) drives me to fully appreciate some of the wonders that our very own planet Earth has to offer. I HIGHLY recommend everyone who can see this to go check ot out and hopefully walk away feeling appreciative and connected to the natural world around us; what's more, I hope it inspires people to protect this wonderful planet and better appreciate the life around us. I spent time sketching, taking close up photos, and absorbing all sorts of things, from plant hoppers, to sea urchins, to the eye catching carapace of all sorts of insects (I had so many favorites). Experiencing a giant isopod up close was a one of a kind thrill, I never thought I would ever see one up close IN PERSON. The birds are gorgeous too, especially the macaws and parakeets, viewed from behind as if I'm watching them take flight to the air. I wasn't expecting the sharks either!! Even though I couldn't touch them, it was great getting to look at the sandpaper-y texture of their skin! It broadened my understanding of reptile anatomy and scale pattern and I learned to draw snakes in a new way! I took so many photos, personal references to use in my own work as a Creature Artist, just aaaaaa! It was worth every penny and I got my money's worth, I also bought the large book from the gift shop; this was such a memorable experience that I won't ever forget and I'm thankful to Christopher and his team for bringing these Exquisite Creatures to Seattle so people like myself can experience it!! I hope it broadens your understanding of our planet, and leaves you with a sense of amazement and awe!

It was absolutely phenomenal! We also met the artist and his mother and they were so kind and a pleasure to talk with! We HIGHLY recommend going!

Fantastic exhibit even with young children. They were mesmerized by all the creatures and the adults love the artistic display as well as discovering new and unknown species. Also, there is nothing like seeing it through the eyes of a child.

I came because of a targeted ad on instagram. I knew it was going to be cool based on the pictures alone, but in person this exhibit far exceeded my expectations; I could have easily spent 2+ hours taking everything in. The attention to detail is immaculate, from the origin story to the sourcing to the matting and framing and lighting. I’ve just discovered a new favorite artist.
