このツアーでは、私たちはジョージタウンの忙しい地域を探索します。この地域は、小さな曲がりくねった通り、倉庫、屋根付きの卸売市場、露店、小売店など、確立された専門のバザーで構成されています。 もともとは「ブラックタウン」と呼ばれていたこの地域は、セントジョージ砦の設立後1600年代後半に登場しました。地元の人々はここに住み着き、砦と商売をしました。ブラックタウンの一部は1700年代に平坦化され、セントジョージ砦の外に空き地ができました。ブラックタウンの住民は、ニューブラックタウンと呼ばれる場所で、オープンエリアのすぐ向こうに再定住しました。 1800年代半ばには、オープンエリア（旧ブラックタウン）がマドラス高等裁判所の壮大な建物の建設に使用されました。ジョージ王がインドを訪問した1910年、ブラックタウンはジョージタウンに改名されました。今日ジョージタウンは日当たりの良いものすべてを売っている忙しいマーケットエリアであり続けています：バングル、布地、果物、野菜、スパイス、文房具、宝石類など。

Our guide was friendly, weaving in history about the British East India Company and the Armenian Church. It’s crowded and loud, but the raw energy and hidden heritage gems make it an unforgettable experience.

NOTHING....the meeting point as stated in the booking confirmation was changed...even a policeman did not know where the location was. The guide took me down 1 part of the market and then told me the rest would not be open...he then took me on a walk through parts of George town...parts of it was scary...at 1 point we went down stairs and under an isolated dingy and flooded bridge. As for the water and snacks that was part of the package...I recieved nothing...what a rip off
