A little cheaper to just walk in than to use Trip Advisor , as with most tours! It was ok but everyone was listening with their phones so was distracting. It’s done in a time line so easy to follow. We felt it’s a little over priced.
An essential visit to easily understand Patagonia, its past and recent history. It also sells local crafts from El Calafate. Surprising!!! 😍😍😍
Being in Calafate with a couple of free hours a visit to this museum is certainly worth Retrace the millennial history of the earth, mammals and natives Assisted by audio guide in all languages
It is about 7 blocks from Libertador Avenue and is a space, albeit small, full of history. I recommend reading more than the use of hearing aids.
Small place, but very rich in information about the history of Argentina Patagonia! In addition, it has replicas of dinosaurs and mega mammals, which our 4-year-old boy loved! Oh, not to mention the education and availability of Mrs Susana, who welcomes and guides us! It's worth it!
Good value and the lovely lady at the front desk could not have been more helpful - despite us speaking little Spanish and her little English- but with much signing we used the audio guides and the tour took us through prehistoric to modern changes in Patagonia. Fun skeletons and incredible photos of indigenous people - very powerful exhibition - does tell the gruesome story of how European settlers destroyed the indigenous communities. Finished by a warming serving of Yerba mate and explanation of the ritual.
Very well documented museum, audio guides in French available at the reception, very interesting and complete videos, an excellent visit that sweeps the history of Patagonia from prehistory to the present day. I highly recommend it.
The owner's attention is a 10! The museum is nice, but it's small, it has 3 rooms. Of which the first is the most beautiful where there is dinosaur.
I was delighted with the small museum that tells the history of Patagonia. The reconstitutions of dinosaur bones are fantastic (Patagonia is one of the best places in the world to find fossils). The skeleton of the Megaterium made me cry because I remembered what was in the late National Museum in Rio de Janeiro. Skelets provide fun pictures. After paleontology, the show tells how human occupation was, from its first inhabitants to the indigenous genocide. The display at this point is more informative, with several posters, but read them calmly and carefully. The texts are excellent. It is rare to find a museum that has the courage to tell the shame of a nation. In the end one can take at will an excellent mate.
An enriching experience that brings historical and scientific content to your visit to Calafate. Important to be able to see the true story of those who populated Argentine Patagonia and were exterminated, some guides in the excursions omit this "detail". You can see great work and dedication from the team! Very warm at the reception. Ticket $9000 (cash)/$12000
