マーシュウォークを出ると、第二次世界大戦のアメリカ陸軍航空軍墜落船基地（1943年～1945年頃）の史跡に建てられた公共釣り桟橋、マレルズ・インレット・ベテランズ・ピアが見えます。 基地は近くのマートルビーチ陸軍飛行場から航空砲術訓練を支援し、沿岸海域や沼地上空で訓練事故に巻き込まれたパイロットや航空機の所在位置の特定と回収に使用された。 この施設には、長い沼地のドック、貯蔵棟、救助活動の調整に使用される無線小屋が含まれていた。 地元のボートキャプテンやボランティアが沿岸警備隊や復旧作業で軍人を援助することも多く、戦時中はグランドストランド沿いの重要な支援地となった。 第二次世界大戦後、軍は駅を放棄し、公共の釣り桟橋へと変遷した。 時が経つにつれ、1989年のハリケーン・ヒューゴを含む嵐の被害は、元の構造の多くを破壊した。 跡地は後に再建され、2000年代初頭にマーシュウォーク地域に編入された。

We booked with the company and told to arrive early. We got there an hour early. Walked around went and checked in a half hour early. Asked if we wanted to pay an extra 5.00 to cut the line. Husband declined since we were so early. So people who show up at the last minute will get to go before you and several showed up that way, approximately 15. So if u show up early to he first in line it wont matter. Boat is clean. Easy to get on and off the boat. The real problem is if the one side sees dolphins they dont announce it so everyone can see. The captain didn't slow the boat down or even make an attempt to make sure everyone seen the dolphin. On the way to dock as he thanks you for coming he says and we seen a dolphin on the way in. Like no we didnt. One side of the boat may have. We have done several tours when we visit and will stick with the others. This is the 2nd time we have went with crazy sisters to be disappointed. Also you will have several stairs to go up to get your tickets.
I enjoyed being in the marina itself and being on the ocean. We saw many birds and a couple of dolphins.
This excursion was a fun boat ride especially with choppy waters. However the guide seemed more focused on showing the history of the area then helping to see dolphins and other water life. As the guide did not point out any marine life. Luckily the kids next to us saw some dolphins so we did as well. However for the cost of the excursion we expected to see marine life with the help of the crew. But that did not happen. But all in all it was a fun excursion.
Its called a dolphin and sealife cruise and all we saw was a dead fish and that was before we even left the dock. When we asked the staff they said it's just a name and that there are no dolphins to see and when asked about the sealife he said "whatever you see birds....fish...". A scam if I ever seen one.
That it’s a fake advertisement saying you can take selfies with the dolphins and that’s not true that’s why I took the ride really wanted to see more dolphins than what I did
Hi Tammy. None of our advertisements or listings speak to taking selfies with dolphins. Our tour goes out searching for dolphins and sea life in the wild. It's always magical when they come out to play in their natural habitat. We're sorry you didn't see as many as you were hoping for but some are always better than none as we can never guarantee sightings due to them being wild animals.
Very entertaining. Didn’t see dolphins but Alex was very informative, knowledgeable, and entertaining. Would definitely book again.

Unfortunately the seas were rough and they switched us to a small fishing boat. It was not pleasent because of the rough seas. Had they stuck to the large pontoon boat, my husband wouldn't have felt sick. There were no dolphins that day, but it is nature so it happens. Staff are very friendly and informative. We would go again, but only on the larger boat. You can bring snacks and drinks, which they sell in the store. There are no snacks and drinks on the fishing boat, there are on the larger boat.

While everyone's tolerance for motion on the water is different, the safety of our guests and crew is always our top priority, and our captains would never depart if conditions were deemed unsafe. To help ensure guests still get out on the water, especially during times of lower demand, we occasionally upgrade tours to a smaller premium vessel rather than canceling altogether. While the experience may differ from our larger boat, our goal is always to provide the best possible trip for our guests. Overall good. A little misleading on the hands on sea creatures the kids could see. We picked this company because of that one feature. It was a normal fish tank and they brought around a crab.....also, a little glitch in the email with the address map link. Thankfully, it mentioned wicked tuna or we would have been on the other side of town. Other than that, fun experience

One thing that makes our small-species exhibit unique is that the animals vary from trip to trip based on what our crew collects from the local waters. Rather than keeping marine life captive long-term, we regularly rotate and release the animals, giving guests a chance to see and learn about species that are actively living in our local ecosystem. We didn’t see any animals. Everyone was nice, just never seen anything at all. I’ve been on dolphin tours before and they were great

Although we have a great success rate with seeing dolphins, they are wild animals and move quickly so there are times that they're hiding out there and just can't be found. We always cover as much ground as possible and the crew gives 110% to locate them. We hope your group enjoyed the narration and took advantage of exploring the creatures in our on board interactive touch tank that day too- it's always cool to see some of the local small species up close and personal.
