Good tour and great guide, very informative and engaging

Leo is a great guide. He has military background and he filled in the history of hoe the DMZ came about. He also took us to the suspension bridge at Gamaksan. He also has a good sense of humour that made the tour interesting and funny. The watches out for the people in our group, making sure no one is left behind. If you're going to book a tour to the DMZ, I highly recommend Leo.

It was such a fun and interesting experience! Our guide, Paul, was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He told us a lot of interesting things and made the whole tour really enjoyable. I had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour!

Let’s start with the tour. It was quite interesting, but rushed at some places. Two big disappointments: - Pictures were not allowed. Apparently it was possible about 2 years ago, and also some people were taking pictures anyway, but there were no consequences, so it did not feel fair. - The meeting and Q&A with the North Korean defector was very short, and there were also other visitors outside our tour using the time for questions. Overall, the tour was quite interesting, but overpriced. The guide, Julie, made a very good first impression. She was energetic and gave a lot of interesting and insightful information. But the longer the tour went, the more she focused on self-promotion and on what to buy and where. At some point it became really weird how much she was engaged in selling or recommending different things. She talked a lot about buying North Korean money and. There was also quite a lot of talk about cosmetics. What was even stranger was how strongly she discouraged us from buying things in some shops, while recommending other shops. In the shops she recommended, she was sometimes actively approaching people and talking about the products almost like a salesperson. One thing that especially annoyed me was the “ginseng whisky” she recommended in one of the souvenir shops. She specifically said it was DMZ Spirits 45 and described it as whisky. I cannot read Korean, so I trusted what she said. It quickly turned out that it was not whisky at all. I still bought it because I was interested in trying alcohol made with, or containing, ginseng, but after checking it later I found out that it was basically distilled soju. That made the recommendation was false and misleading. On the way back, Julie was also going around with a QR code and asking everyone to leave a good review. For me, this created some unnecessary pressure, especially when the guide is standing next to you and directly asking for a positive review. Also, some of her jokes or comments towards participants were not really funny and sometimes came across as offensive.

Went on a group trip to the DMZ, Hanging Bridge, Underground Tunnel and the Defector Q&A. It was an insightful and entertaining trip. Everything met my expectations to the fullest, largely in part to our amazing guide Simba! She masterfully managed the balance between being funny, informative and keeping everyone aware of each step of the tour. Huge shout out to her! My highlight of the tour was the Defector Q@A. I could listen to stories and ask questions for hours if we had the time.

Simba was amazing! Full of energy—the entire day! I’d give her ten stars if I could. She made our day very enjoyable. 😊

We had a great trip to the DMZ with Simba! It was a very efficiently run and informative day out. My 10 year old really enjoyed it too - she said Simba was fun and kind. Highly recommend.

Simba was a great guide throughout. Funny, engaging and kept the group together well. The tunnel and suspension bridge involve moderate uphill walking, but worth it for the experience. The group size was about 30 people, but easy to hear Simba and didn't feel over crowded. Also the meal halfway through was surprisingly good and very cheap. Would definitely recommend it for something different.

Great day. Lots of interesting stuff and getting a chance to talk to an actual North Korea defector. Simba is amazing guide.
