We spent four hours on a guided tour with Santo Escapes, and our guide, Vasilis, made it an absolutely unforgettable experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly takes great pride in his home island of Santorini. We loved getting to see and learn about parts of the island beyond the typical tourist spots. Vasilis answered all of our questions about life on Santorini and even made a stop at a local bakery so we could enjoy some delicious Greek treats. As a bonus, he was an excellent driver on Santorini’s winding roads! Our two favorite experiences in Santorini were this tour and our catamaran cruise, which we also booked through Santo Escapes. He brought us to Oia before the crowds arrived, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful streets while they were still nearly empty. He even knew the perfect spot to capture the iconic blue dome photos without waiting in the long line - something we never would have known in our own. Throughout the day, Nikos shared the beauty and charm of his island, taking us to breathtaking locations and ending with a fabulous lunch. I'm so grateful we discovered Santo Luxury Escape. My husband and I only had one day on Santorini so we thought a private day-long tour would be the perfect way to explore the island. We were very impressed with Vasilis and our tour. He made recommendations on where to go and when, knew where to get the best photos, had great history tidbits, and shared about his family history on the island. He was super friendly and a great guide. We even ran into Nikos, the owner, during our visit to Kamari beach and he knew who we were and introduced himself. We used Santo Luxury Escape for so many things while visiting Santorini. Transfers from airport and to port, katamaran cruise and half day private tour of the island. Everything was wonderful. From booking to Nikos from Santo Luxury Escapes arriving to collect us at our hotel it was seamless and such a lovely afternoon/evening. We booked a 6 hour tour and visited so many different spots. Of course we saw the more commercial areas but he also took us to local small villages where we learnt about local people, agriculture and some history of the island which was amazing to experience . We visited a more traditional winery and museum and tasted some traditional island wines and of course I had to purchase one as it was too nice not too 😊 Nikos then took us to a beautiful restaurant on the Black sand beach for some lovely traditional Greek food and we finished our evening watching the beautiful sunset at the Akrotiri lighthouse. What an amazing experience! Thank you Nikos for a brilliant afternoon.

We had the most wonderful day with Vasilis, Nikos’ cousin. Both born and bred in Santorini so they know the best places to go. He met us at the top of the cable car. All very easy. Vasilis’ knowledge of Santorini was amazing. He knew the best places to go. It felt like a real immersion into Santorini life. He accommodated our request for a swim and beach bar stop. Recommend Doros’ Bar on Pericles beach. Great food and service with sunbeds on the black sand. We had a lovely swim too. We saw all the ‘must see’s is Santorini with breathtaking views. Communication beforehand was excellent. A total 5 star experience. He was such a gentleman. Just book. You won’t regret it.
