It was a beautiful evening Although the time management issue is correct. I will say though that as we went along we got updates and received a partial refund due to missing one activity.

What we did on the tour were all beautiful activities, however time management was a major issue throughout the entire tour. We didn’t get to do a portion that was listed in the description, which the company did provide a partial refund for. The workshops were very special, but took up the bulk of the time. There were also Issues with transportation and the date originally booked for the tour had to be switched, which I understand was out of the companies control. However the time spent waiting for everyone to get to their transportation for the day took up over an hour of the tour time.

Saying that this tour was very disappointing would be an understatement. The pick up included picking individuals up at their individual lodging. With how small central Oaxaca is, it did not make any sense to drive between accommodations and not mandate everybody meet at a centralized meeting point as it takes at most 20 minutes to walk from end to end in Centro Oaxaca. After picking us up, it took 10 minutes to go to another pick up two blocks away that would have taken only a minute to walk. I felt bad for the people who were first picked up who had to wind through the city for the better part of an hour. Every portion of the tour lasted significantly longer than was necessary. We spent an hour more than was necessary at the artisan workshop. Multiple parts of the tour could have been shortened to create a more seamless experience. The order of activities on the tour also made very little sense as we went back and forth between towns eating up a significant amount of time. It was downright comical when we made it to the field of flowers at 8:30pm and nobody on the tour could even get good photos as it was too dark. When we booked the tour, we explicitly booked for this date because it listed that this date would include a tour of a cemetery for Dia de Los Muertos. The tour guide even mentioned going to a cemetery at the beginning of the tour when he was giving us the agenda. During the visit to the alebrije workshop, multiple other guests on the tour were voicing concern that we would not have time for the cemetery visit as we were already running 90 minutes late for dinner. As a group, we universally agreed to skip the dinner and go back to Oaxaca so we could get back by 10pm as the dinner would have pushed our arrival back to midnight. Another guest brought up whether we could skip the flower fields and go directly to the cemetery. The guide then preceded to tell us that the cemetery tour was not included for this date. This left all of us on the tour very confused as it was promised when we booked and the guide had even mentioned it at the very beginning of the tour. By the end, we were exhausted and entertaining leaving the tour and trying to find our own taxi back to Oaxaca. Overall, it he tour felt like a poorly planned and executed 8 hour adventure that we could have skipped to properly enjoy the Day of the Dead festivities in Oaxaca, which is what we anticipated we would experience when we booked the tour. In conclusion, I would not recommend this tour or this company to anybody visiting Oaxaca. It felt like a gimmick company just trying to get tourists to buy souvenirs and falsely advertised this as a day of the dead experience. I could have gotten a more robust experience of the culture of day of the dead just walking around Oaxaca for 10 minutes.
