Petrus was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. I’m glad I booked this hiking trip- came to know about so many additional things that you don’t hear about when you are driving through. Petrus kept explaining how the ecosystem worked with all the plants, animals, and bird. I loved it.

Second tour with Kavana Tours. Again amazing. Andre is the coolest guide with a lot of knowledge about animals and plants and how people in the northern villages of namibia benefit from them. Definitely worth doing! Enjoy

Fond memories of a wonderful tour
I had a wonderful hiking tour with Petrus. He is not only a very likeable person, but he is very kind and considerate and made
sure I am safe. Also he knows so much about plants, animals, history and culture and shares personal experiences. I learned a lot! Make sure you are wearing sturdy shoes and maybe you will see giraffes, wildebeests, ostriches, many birds and so much more. I highly recommend this tour, it is different to other activities and a great way to experience nature, stretch your legs and get to know a very kind, amazing guide who puts lots of love into his work!

An Amazing Guide Makes All the Difference
Petrus is an outstanding guide and the main reason I would recommend this experience. You can immediately tell how much he loves his culture, the history of Namibia, and the natural environment. Throughout the tour, he shared fascinating insights about the trees, wildlife, and the reserve, always connecting them to his own village and personal experiences. His stories were engaging, thoughtful, and full of wisdom, making the drive so much more than just a game drive.
It wasn't a day with lots of wildlife sightings, but I still saw a large herd of antelopes, eight giraffes, a jackal, several wildebeest, and many different bird species.
If you have the chance to visit, ask for Petrus. He truly makes the experience special.

Great day - Saw lots of animals, but paths are stony
It was a great walk. We saw lots of wildlife, including giraffes. Be prepared for stony trails and some ups and downs. Petrus was the guide and he know an amazing amount about the animals, birds and trees. What I appreciated most was that Petrus was sensitive to my needs. We had planned a 9km walk, but I began to tire early and Petrus noticed this and suggested a short cut back that cut 4kms out of the walk, but still contained lots of nice views and interesting things. It was a great day. The park did not disappoint and we had a lot of fun viewing and talking about the animals.

Great hime
Be prepared for clambering over rocks and some steepish inclines. It’s a great hike with good views and wildlife. Our guide was very knowledgable and took into consideration our pace. Make sure you wear long pants and hiking boots recommended.

Great hike with Petrus
This hike in Daan Viljoen with Petrus as my guide was incredible! I was picked up on time and we drove to the reserve, then set off on foot. We were lucky to see so many animals: giraffes near the road, warthogs, wildebeest, impalas, hyrax, and an ostrich, as well as multiple birds. Petrus shared lots of interesting information about different plants and animals, and complemented them with explanations for how they may be used in rural settings and anecdotes from his own experience growing up in a village setting. We took a break in a peaceful creek-like setting, and Petrus provided water, juices, snacks and fruit. Overall it was an amazing experience!
