We always start our travels in a new city with a food tour because it’s usually a great way to get an introduction to both the city and its cuisine. We’ve done food tours in Vancouver, Austin, Chicago, Milan, Munich, Miami, Iceland, and Amsterdam, so we have a pretty good basis for comparison. Unfortunately, Yummy Copenhagen was by far the most underwhelming and uninteresting food tour we have ever done. The tour lasted about four hours, yet we learned almost nothing about Copenhagen’s neighborhoods, Danish food culture, or even the places where we stopped. The food itself was incredibly disappointing: one pastry, a meatball, a taco, and open-faced sandwiches. Nothing felt particularly special or memorable. We did food tour of past and present. Most of the time was spent simply walking, much of it through areas that felt more like business districts than interesting neighborhoods. We even passed other food-tour groups along the way whose stops and food looked significantly better. For the amount of time and money involved, this was absolutely not worth it. We left feeling like we had learned very little about Copenhagen and experienced very little of its food scene. Definitely a waste of both time and money.

We are genuinely sorry to hear that our Yummy Copenhagen Modern Food Tour did not live up to your expectations, especially as you have enjoyed food tours in many other cities. We have looked into exactly what was served during your experience, and I can see that there were several additional food elements included beyond what you have mentioned in your review. That said, I am very sorry to hear that you still came away with the feeling that the experience was not comprehensive enough. That said, we take your feedback about the storytelling seriously. A big part of what we want our guests to take away from the tour is not simply a taste of Danish food, but an understanding of Copenhagen, its neighborhoods and the history and culture behind the places and dishes we visit. We are sorry to hear that you felt this part of the experience was missing. Our Yummy Copenhagen Modern Food Tour is designed around the idea of combining food with Copenhagen’s past and present, and naturally involves quite a bit of walking between stops. We understand that this may not be the right format for everyone, particularly if you are looking for a tour with less walking or a stronger focus on sitting down and eating. We are sorry that the experience was not the introduction to Copenhagen you had hoped for, but we appreciate you sharing your perspective. Feedback like this helps us look critically at how we can make sure the food, the storytelling and the connection to the city all feel equally worthwhile to our guests.
Our guide, Therese was delightful. We had a 3+hr walking tour. We visited several different places and ate a variety of classics danish dishes. We learned a lot of historical information. I would definitely recommend this tour!

A wonderful small group tour that was led by an excellent guide Jacob. It felt very personal, friendly and relaxed. We had so much food I wished that I had only eaten half the amount provided at each stop. We really enjoyed the day, learnt a lot and did not need dinner that night.

Rather unorganized start and not a lot of narrative about the food. Things got a little better as the guide warmed up but not a well run tour. One of the “stops” was a piece of licorice from a bag he bought at a store along the way. Sorry but this was not special or memorable experience. Don’t recommend.

The food tour with Oskar P was fantastic! We learned a lot about the culture, the history, the various neighborhoods and we ate a lot of great food! Oskar was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. The tour far exceeded our expectations!
