Our first time kayaking on Lake Kawaguchiko with my two daughters, aged 8 and 13, was such a fun and memorable experience! We really enjoyed learning how to coordinate and work together as a team. Grahame was very friendly, patient, and a great guide, showing us how to enjoy kayaking at our own pace. What touched us most was the peaceful beauty of the lake and mountains around us. Paddling through the calm water allowed us to slow down, enjoy the silence, and truly feel connected with nature. We loved every moment of it and would definitely love to come back and do it again!

Really recommend this tour! Grahame is highly knowledgeable of the history of Fuji as well as Japanese culture. He’s also very friendly and a great photographer! Our group had a lovely time on Kawaguchiko enjoying the peaceful water and stunning views of Fuji-san. Excellent value and a fun experience!

Getting up early was worth it! The lake was super calm and you had a great view of Fuji. CJ was super friendly and accommodating and gave us a wonderful start to the day with the tour.

This was a great way to spend the morning! The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fun facts about Japan and Mount Fuji. It was an amazing way to enjoy the lake. 10/10 would recommend!

We had a fantastic morning kayaking with NaturaBase. Grahame was incredibly knowledgeable about Mt. Fuji and the area, great company, and made the whole experience relaxing, fun and memorable. We had spectacular views of Fuji, some great photos, and, as promised, surprisingly good coffee for a kayak! Highly recommend NaturaBase.

The early morning coffee and kayak was great! Great views of Mt Fuji and Grahame our guide took care to take good photos of everyone in the group. We've done kayaking tours a few times and this was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable! Grahame was informative about the area and about visiting Japan in general, which we really appreciated! I loved this activity!!! We started at the Naturabase and got some explanations and good coffee! Then we started our Tour with our Guide, we had a 100% Fujiyama view and that in Summer! We were a really nice troup and our Guide was amazing, thank you!!! It was all perfect! I highly recommend this activity!

I had the most wonderful first kayaking experience with CJ at Natural Base, and I couldn’t have asked for a better guide. CJ is incredibly friendly, easygoing, and makes you feel comfortable from the very beginning. He welcomed me with a coffee before we headed out and shared interesting stories about Mount Fuji and the history of the Five Lakes, which made the experience much more meaningful than just a kayaking tour. As a solo traveler, I felt completely at ease chatting with him throughout the morning. Even though the tour is typically around 60–90 minutes, he kindly let me enjoy the lake for almost two hours without making me feel rushed. That extra time on the calm waters with Mount Fuji in the background became one of the highlights of my entire Japan trip. If you’re thinking about kayaking for the first time, I can’t recommend CJ enough. He’s patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about helping people enjoy the lake. One small suggestion for Natura Base would be to consider adding a few more unique water activities alongside kayaking—perhaps stand-up paddleboarding or other non-motorized experiences that aren’t commonly available. As a tourist, I can say that many visitors are always looking for unique outdoor activities, and having more options would make an already fantastic experience even better. Thank you, CJ, for such an unforgettable morning. I’ll definitely be back if I’m in the area again!
