Splendid experience: the walk on the wall walk of Cittadella.
The walk on the wall walk of Cittadella is a unique experience. You immerse yourself in the Middle Ages, you have a view over the whole city with the cathedral in the center.
It is rich in history, they talk about both the Sanseverino family and the Malatestas and we are between Padua and Venice.
Each gate has its own history: you start from Porta Bassano and end with Porta Treviso. At Torre Malta there is a viewpoint and a shop.
It is a beautiful experience to have. Those who have vertigo had better not go and it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes.

Wonderful!
Wonderful! We did the complete tour under the walls, among other things half in a beautiful park next to the moat, among ducks and geese, and half along the road and then we climbed and walked the entire perimeter of the old city walking on the walkway of patrol which is a complete ring of 360 °. You observe the city cecchi inside and outside you arrive with your eyes up to the mountains. It's really impressive! I recommend going there at the opening, at 9:00, when there is almost no one!

An image of a unique story
The walls of Citadel and 'spectacular; well preserved and' subject to continuous maintenance.... and you see!
The walk along the walkway is fabulous, not so much for what it allows you to see from a unique vantage point but also and above all for what it evokes!

Passing as rude I even no thanks
Waiting to buy a couple of tickets to go around the walls that a gentleman asks where to sleep that the lady at the ticket office calls various hotels to book the night to this gentleman that then always this gentleman asks where to eat and that requires this and that and that I only apologize for only being able to buy a couple of tickets to enter after I got tired of waiting for the various chats I raise my voice to tell me that it was basically the turn of the gentleman and I had to bear patience and that they were open until the evening even not. After all it was enough to give me a couple of tickets and then if they wanted to continue they could very well do it ..

Gentile Signora, la biglietteria è anche l'Ufficio Turistico e si aspetta il proprio turno. Ha dovuto aspettare 3 minuti di orologio, non credo sia una tragedia.

Culture in the holiday
Great opportunity to make the card, long term by the way, so we saw things that maybe we would have missed and we were excited

Beautiful experience in a city already interesting and worth visiting
Citadel would still be a destination not to be underestimated during a non-shallow trip to Veneto, but undoubtedly its city walls are the main attraction of the place. The city itself was founded in the Middle Ages as an outpost of the municipality of Padua, to protect against possible incursions by Vicenza and Treviso; evidently the walls - even more so in a totally flat area and free of natural obstacles - must have been fundamental for this function and the city walls, thanks to a series of careful restorations, are still the element that most characterizes the city.
In practice, the walls, almost perfectly circular, seamlessly enclose the small historic center and are interrupted by four gates, which take their name from the cities in the direction of the four cardinal points (Padua, Vicenza, Treviso and Bassano). The walls offer a remarkable spectacle even from below, especially from outside, where various areas have been created arranged as a park and where the moat is still visible. However, it is possible to go up on the patrol path to make the entire tour of the walls, at a height of about 15 meters and for a path of about one and a half kilometers.
Unlike in Lucca or Ferrara, the route is not integrated into the urban space and admission is charged, for a reasonable price (5 euros); the route on the walls is practicable by anyone with a decent mobility and is of great interest for the beauty of the walls themselves and for the views that you can have of them, which allow you to notice the perfect symmetry of the ancient town (two perpendicular roads that connect the four gates and meet in the center, at the Duomo) and to admire the Duomo itself and the surrounding countryside, up to the first reliefs of Grappa to the north.
While my opinion is absolutely positive, a couple of things have not convinced me entirely: inside the walls the small museum that would like to present the medieval age is accompanied by captions a little questionable (the Middle Ages is described in apocalyptic tones worthy of the best contemporary "progressivism" as an age of horrors and inescapable errors, in which it took nothing to put an innocent person at the stake as a witch... a judgment a little more balanced and less biased would not hurt); moreover, in a response to a previous review there was talk of the needs of animals, which leaves me with several perplexities: is it possible that there is no way, even in such a particular environment, to ban dogs altogether?

⛔Dogs on the walls
Entrance only to small dogs in arms.... Then they come up and the dogs paw on their own... So an unnecessary and shameful ban. Thank you Citadel for the Welcoming only country where we found a prohibition to visit the walls and also for a fee.... Bye bye

Wonderful!
At 15 meters high, you walk this patrol path enjoying the extraordinary views of the city and the surrounding landscape. On top of the tower of Malta there is also an information board indicating all the mountains that the gaze can reach.
This intact elliptical path you absolutely cannot miss!

An elliptical round path
We made the walk on the round path which is really well passable and very well appointed. This path is 1.5 km and it takes about 20 minutes to go all around.
It is very nice to visit the city from this place. We discover the old town and we have very nice views. I really liked it. In addition, from above, you can see from both sides: inside and outside. We also overlook very nice properties perfectly maintained. It’s a different way to discover this place. Parking outside the ramparts.
