Our guides were great! Took their times to be sure we experienced our animal encounters without a rush!
Very nice safari, highly recommended.
Great experience ! Tour departs at ) in the morning . You experience the sunrise in the park ! Our guide showed us the beautiful spots and tracked down a lot of animals ! Great experience! Thank you very much!
I went to for a 3 hour game drive with Simmer from Kwalape Lodge in Kasane on the 9th December. The drive was so amazing even though we couldn't see the cats. We saw several wild animals and Summer , the tour guide was the best. He made our trip vaboulous, he is such a good tour guidewho is very patient with his clients. Summer keep up the good work please, he really helped with all the questions we asked. The cruise was so amazing. We came across, elegant, giraffes, antelopes. It was so fun when we stopped for tea and the monkeys wanted to eat breakfast with us. It was an amazing scenery
I was waiting to see more animals because I had seen photographs taken there about fifteen years ago. I was lucky enough to see a lioness with the cubs but half of those who were part of my organized tour, arrived ten minutes late, saw nothing but elephants. Nothing to do with Kenya. Then it is clear the scarce amount of animals because there are, in the park, picnic areas... In the "serious" African parks, if you pee in the jeep it is really difficult to let you out because the lions would picnic...
The game drive into Chobe is fantastic but before you book, look around for better deals that don't assume you are a wealthy international traveller. If you are a SADC member, the park fees are P145 each and you can then get a better rate, if you go to the small kiosks just before the Spar parking area. The experience is just as awesome and definitely cheaper. We used Mr Cherry
Good day, thank for the review, I am pleased you enjoyed the Chobe Game Drive.
We did separate morning and afternoon game drives in Chobe and both were excellent. Both provided a diversity of wildlife including elephants, hippo, giraffe, buffalo and a range of antelope species and birds. Driver/guides were excellent both times finding resting lions in the afternoon and a pride of a dozen in the early morning stalking a herd of water buffalo on the plains - really spectacular. Highly recommend a visit to this park as the wildlife is abundant and easily located and track are better than many others visited
Dear Oz, thank you for your most positive review of the Game Drives in the Chobe National Park. This park does hold a great diversity of wildlife, and it is wonderful that you got to experience this.
Firstly we had to get a map of chobe since I forgot mine at home. There is only one shop at the gate who sells the R180.00 map for R400.00. When we entered we discovered that there are no road markings not indications where you must go. There are zero maintenance at reception as well as in the park. Eventually we got to the only picnic site for a pit stop. To our shock we found something like a run down abandoned building and discovered it is the toilets. Only two and you need to hold your breath, run in, stand (do not sit) and try to wash your hands. After we paid a hell of a price to enter we were very disappointed in Chobe and will not return. If things go as it is going now, there will be absolutely nothing left. What we discovered throughout Botswana is that the 'main attractions' require ridiculous entrance fee and absolute NO upkeep nor maintenance. It is just one downward spiral
Good day, thank you very much for your review and particularly of the standards that you experienced in the Chobe Park. The park is maintained by the Department of National Parks, a government department. I am sad to hear this about the park, as operators we do have meetings with the Parks, and will certainly bring this up. Thank you for taking the time to report this.
The guide took his time and finding animals. I have been with other guides that just tell information that is not accurate. This guide knew accurate information and was patient and entertaining. We even had a boat picnic with tea and biscuits while watching the animals on the shore. We all felt perfectly safe. I felt this was above and beyond my expectations.
Raelly glad you enjoyed the Chobe, and you are 100% correct, a good guide makes all the difference. Im glad our guide lived up to expectations
The experience was magnificent with beautiful landscape and vast variety of animals, from land animals to aquatic ones.
