この建物は、1983年から1987年まで市長を務めたシカゴ初のアフリカ系アメリカ人市長にちなんで名付けられ、1991年にオープンしました。シカゴは世界でも最も素晴らしい建築物があることで知られています。
ループ地区のラサール ストリートを中心とするこの通りは、中心地の経済の原動力の支点です。ラサール ストリート沿いには高層ビルがそびえ立ち、渓谷のような効果を生み出しています。その渓谷は、アール デコの傑作であるジャクソン通りの商品取引所で突然終わります。商品取引所の派手な服装をした商品取引業者、シカゴ連銀の規制当局者、そしてピンストライプの銀行家たちは、この権力の回廊をよく知っています。
クルチンスキー連邦ビル前の連邦広場にある高さ 53 フィートのスタビレ。米国一般調達局の委託により 1974 年に公開されましたが、彫刻に刻まれたカルダーの署名から、1973 年に製作されたことがわかります。
完成後ほぼ25年間、かつてシアーズタワーと呼ばれていたウィリスタワーは、世界で最も高いビルの称号を保持していました。高さ110階建てのその黒いアルミニウムとブロンズ色のガラスの外観は、建築に熱心な都市シカゴの象徴となっています。
シカゴの金融街の中心にあるルーカリー ビルは、19 世紀後半のシカゴの回復力と創造力の証です。1871 年の大火後の街の復興により、アメリカの都市の景観を一変させる高層オフィス ビルが誕生しました。
シカゴのダウンタウンにあるパーマー ハウス ヒルトンの物語は、ロマンチックで紛れもない魅力に満ちています。ポッター パーマーはシカゴの実業家で、シカゴのダウンタウンの象徴的なステート ストリートの開発に重要な役割を果たしたことをはじめ、さまざまな事業で有名でした。

Sue is wonderful, born in Chicago so she knows the great food places. All the food was delicious, better than I expected. The pizza was so good, I never eat that kind of pizza but I ate the entire piece. The brownies were scrumptious, even though I was full, there was always room for a great brownie. Sue's knowledge of the Chicago history made the tour an absolute must for anyone who is interested in great facts and stories. I would recommend this tour to all.
