We highly recommend booking a cooking class with Paola. We had such a fantastic time! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Paola, Massimo, and their lovely dog Toby. Paola taught us how to make fresh pasta and classic tiramisu, which was not only delicious but also a lot of fun. After cooking, we all sat down together in the garden to enjoy the meal and some appetizers Paola had prepared. We shared plenty of laughs even though most of the communication was through a translation app. It felt like having lunch with friends!
Mary was so loving. She took her time and the recipes were ideally matched to my wishes. The decor was also top. Only the time of 3 hours was exceeded by far, but this did not disturb, as the atmosphere was good.
Paula and her husband Massimo were wonderful hosts. While we spoke little Italian and they spoke little English - it didn't matter. The cooling spoke for itself. Their sweet dog and mischievous cat danced in and out of our experience. Paula was incredibly patient and helpful. The meal we made was by far the best we had in Italy. I'm so proud of my kids for pitching in and completing the recipes. I would highly recommend the experience and and note that good food takes time. We had blocked off from 5-8 but didn't finish until 10:30 or so. Completely worth it.
We had a wonderful evening at Paola and her husband. Lots of laughter, good cooking and eating and great memories made.
If you’re staying near Forte dei Marmi, do yourself a favor and book this cooking class. It was the highlight of our whole trip to Italy! It was amazing for us to escape the more touristy areas of Florence and Rome we were in earlier in our trip and enter into a real Italian household. Paola, Roberta, and Massimo made us feel at home and we were so happy to get to spend time with them while learning to cool. We started by preparing fresh ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach, followed by a tagliatelle pasta served with white ragu. Paola taught us how to mix and knead the pasta dough and shape it into ravioli. We also made tiramisu from scratch and it was so delicious. Before dinner, our hosts surprised us with crostini and a variety of antipasti they had prepared. We all sat down for dinner outside at a beautifully set table, where we were served prosecco and chianti and got to know our hosts better. This experience went far beyond a typical cooking class. It felt like being welcomed into a real Italian home. The food was incredible, but it was the warmth, generosity, and genuine connection that made it truly unforgettable. Thank you, Paola, Roberta, and Massimo, for a magical evening. We look forward to making these recipes when we get home!
It was an amazing experience! I really enjoyed being a guest of Paola's family. The recipes were clear, the conversations were pleasant, and the dinner was delicious! In addition, I received recipes and lots of photos and videos. I felt comfortable, even though I was solo. Do not hesitate and choose this activity. Grazie mille!
Thank you very much for your kind review! We appreciate your kind words and are glad that you enjoyed your experience with us! Best wishes, Laura - Cesarine Team
We had such a wonderful time at our cooking class with Paola. The warmth and friendliness and the wonderful meal we had together is something we will always remember. We left not just knowing how to make ravioli, pasta and tiramisu, but meeting very nice people who opened their homes to us and shared their day with us.
Very nice hosts. I was there alone, normally it would be an activity for two to five (they told me there was such a group over 10 with you). I was warmly received and via Google translator it also worked with communication. The dog Tobias also helped diligently and called for regular petting sessions.
What an amazing day !! We were welcomed into the home of Toby the dog, sorry, no Maria and her husband 😉😂. We were patiently guided through the making of pasta and made ravioli and pappardelle. She taught us how to make the filling for the ravioli and also a tomato and basil sauce. The rolling out of the pasta was a humorous part of the afternoon. My wife being slightly better than me and a quizzical, but fun look for Maria 😂 with a helping hand to follow. We also made Tiramisu. All this whilst Toby the dog made sure we were happy and felt welcomed! We were then treated to a sit down meal with wine and meats and cheeses from the region, then the pasta we had “created” followed by the tiramisu. This all helped down by wine and a shot of home made limoncello to finish. Were made to feel comfortable and at home from the moment we arrived. Google translate helped where words and hand signals couldn’t. The highlight of our trip so far. Arrived as strangers, but feel we left as friends. Thank you, until next time…..
This was the best part of our trip to Italy. Paola and her family welcomed us into their beautiful home and made us feel like family. Paola was a wonderful teacher and made everything look and feel easy. She took the time to share personal tips and gave us a taste of Italy that far exceeded the class description. If we ever return to Viareggio, I will schedule another class with her immediately. We are so grateful for this experience.
