The coffee experience is the perfect way to learn about the cultural aspect of coffee in Colombia. Our guide Alvero expertly guided us through Getsemoni and the Old City explaining the history, the architecture, and the significance of different aspects of the city. Furthermore, we were able to experience all of the different flavors and ways that Colombians experience their coffee. We learned the history of coffee, the ways to properly brew a perfect cup, and met incredible people along the way. Also, he knows the best spots for a picture. I can not recommend this experience enough.
Excellent experience in Cartagena. If you are not planning to go to a Coffee Farm, this is a perfect alternative. We learnt a lot about coffee and its history in Colombia, while enjoying high quality cafés. Couldn't recommend more!
Alvaro was an awesome host. Gave us a great history lesson on Cartagena, and was very knowledgable on the variations of coffee. It was great that he is bilingual, as sometimes he had to switch back and forth with us, our Spanish is ok, but some words we would get stuck. Love that he has a good sense of humor too as my group put him to the test. I would definitely recommend the tour if you are into coffee. Also, he was very responsive in helping us figure out where the meet up was, which was a relief because the city can be a bit confusing.
