Dear Denise, Thank you for sharing your experience. We completely understand your disappointment, especially because the Blue Grotto was personally one of the places you most hoped to experience. Because your review describes Capri Deluxe as “misleading,” we would like to clarify something important for future travelers. We do take our guests to the Blue Grotto and give them the opportunity to visit whenever conditions allow. What nobody can predict in advance is whether it will be open or how long the wait will be on any particular day. Sometimes there is little or no wait; other times it may be 15, 30, 60 minutes or longer. Access is independently operated and also depends on sea and tide conditions, so entrance can never be guaranteed. On your particular day, our group of 12 guests reached the Blue Grotto and was advised of an approximately one-hour wait. 10 of the 12 guests preferred to continue discovering the island rather than wait, while we completely understand that your preference was different because the Blue Grotto was especially important to you. So we would like to clarify one point: the decision to continue was not because our captain or guide simply “did not want to wait.” It reflected the preference of the group and the circumstances encountered that day. And this is what we would most love future travelers to understand about Capri Deluxe: The Complete Island Experience: Come hoping to experience the Blue Grotto. But come to experience Capri. Capri Deluxe was created to reveal this extraordinary island from LAND AND SEA: a private boat journey along its spectacular coastline, the Faraglioni and beautiful grottos, ever-changing views from the water, the opportunity to swim in the Mediterranean, Capri and Anacapri, private transportation around the island and a dedicated English-speaking guide throughout the day. The Blue Grotto can absolutely be a wonderful part of that experience, and whenever the circumstances of the day allow, we are delighted for our guests to experience its magic. But the beauty of Capri Deluxe is that an unforgettable day on Capri has so much more to offer. Denise, we genuinely wish the circumstances had been different and that the Blue Grotto could have been part of your day too. For future travelers, our invitation is simple: Come excited about the possibility of the Blue Grotto. You booked our Capri Deluxe Experience with Blue Grotto, which is designed to discover Capri by both land AND sea. It includes transportation to Capri by hydrofoil, a dedicated English-speaking guide, transportation around the island, and a private boat experience around Capri. The hydrofoil is indeed a public high-speed passenger ferry. The private boat advertised in Capri Deluxe refers to the separate boat experience around Capri—not the transportation from the mainland to the island. Most importantly, Capri Deluxe is different from our dedicated “First to Blue Grotto” tour. Our First to Blue Grotto experience follows a different itinerary specifically designed to reach the Blue Grotto among the first visitors of the day and is available from Sorrento and Naples. Your Capri Deluxe experience was delivered as advertised, including the land and sea components that distinguish this tour. That said, your feedback is valuable. We have now made the separation between Capri Deluxe and our dedicated First to Blue Grotto experiences even clearer, so travelers can more easily choose the experience that best matches their priorities. Unfortunately, we cannot control Capri's summer crowds, heat or occasional hydrofoil delays.
