Amazing commentary by Mark Shere... great orator & his storytelling is epic
Mark was our guide and he kept us entertained for over 2 hours. It was a searing hot Sunday but everyone was so engrossed in this tour, we hardly noticed the heat. Marks ability to engage with the group in a fun, witty way was a talent. He remembered everyone’s name (the group was about 20) and related stories about Cambridge to the groups multicultural backgrounds so it felt relatable. I was always confused about Cambridge and the university layout but Mark explained it in a fun, relatable way. It wasn’t just a history tour of Cambridge, he told us so many more interesting facts about England. It’s difficult to convey the fun of this walk, but you won’t regret it! Just book with Mark for an incredible 2 hour tour full of facts, laughs and funny anecdotes.
Mark is exceptionally knowledgeable and able to piece history with analysis of politics together. The insights he shared were beyond the usual tours i have attended and it was insightful to hear and understand in a short time how Cambridge and those who were here before contributed to history of humanity. Amazing guide.

We visited Cambridge during a heatwave, and had 2 teenagers who were hot, tired and distracted. Mark generously greeted us (even though we booked at the last minute), remembered our names, shared jokes and stories that brought history alive and made it personal and highly memorable. Highly recommended.

We had Sonnja as our guide and she was fantastic! She really bought Cambridge to life with her great skill of combining history facts with wit, humour and some cynicism! You could really tell she loved her city and its vast amount of history. Sonnja not only guided us around the colleges with expertise but answered numerous random questions on the history of Cambridge whilst we were walking. We would definitely recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Sonnja as your guide then it’s a win win!
