A brilliant tour without being too long and with the right amount of stories and information. I'm sure this was down to our guide having lived here for many years and attended Kings College (I think her name was Charlotte, apologies if I got the name wrong!). You could tell how much she loved the city and showing us all the nooks and crannies, quirky stories and hidden history. I booked the optional entrance into Kings College Chapel as well which was the perfect way to round off the tour.
There are two people standing outside the front which is actually the exit. There was a a QR code to scan to buy tickets. The entrance is a walk to the chapel, we turned left at the castle looking building and followed the road around. There was a ticket hut, without a queue, which we could have, paid at. Would have been good if we were told that. The chapel is worth a look round, my husband described the stained glass windows as a magic eye, the more you look the more stories you see.
We did the Free Cambridge Walking Tour with Mark. It took about 2,5 hours and was worth every minute. Mark has studied in Cambridge and is VERY knowledgeable and funny. We’ve learned so much! We also appreciated his personal approach. We‘ve done more than 100 free walking tours over the last 12 years and your tour was amomg the best we have ever had. Thank you so much, Mark!
