So disappointed I wasted a day travelling to and from the meeting place. I was offered a alternative date in couple it's not going to work for me as I live in the UK.

Having an alternative date offered may be helpful in some circumstances, but we absolutely understand why that doesn’t work for you when you live in the UK and likely planned this experience specifically around your visit.
