Bojnice Castle is simply beautiful. Modeled on a French chateau, it started as a medieval castle then underwent several style changes in its history. The result is a blend of towers and courtyards that are extremely attractive. We took a tour of the inside, which was extensive, and visited many rooms. You can also walk around the entire castle. The second part of the trip was to the village of Cicmany. This place is unique. Many of the houses are built of wood, and decorated with rows of white symbols depicting things from life and death, sheep, chickens and peacocks. The town dates back to medieval times, and you can enter two of the houses that are museums.

I joined the Slovak Ancestry Tour and two private tours. Everything was well planned and our guides(Peter and Michal) were very friendly and knowledgeable . The hotels , transportation, and food were all great. Five Star without exception and I highly recommend Best Slovakia Tours for travel in Eastern Europe!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Cicmany and Bojnice with Majka, our tour guide. Majka shared a lot of information with us along the way which gave us excellent insights into both destinations. Cicmany is a stunning and unique village with its wooden houses covered in white markings, and Bojnice Chateau is truly a fairytale castle. Don't let the eight hours needed for this tour put you off, as both places are well worth a visit and the Slovakian countryside is really beautiful. Majka was a great driver and we felt very safe with her. Peter and Janka of Best Slovakia Tours were very quick in responding to our inquiries and very helpful with their advice on this tour. Best day of our trip to Slovakia! Thank you, Peter, for the great day trip to Bojnice and Cicmany. The Chateau and the small village were great, the drive through the Slovak regions relaxed and very nice. The highlight, however, was Peter’s knowledgeable and personal anecdotes about his home country, which made us get to know and understand Slovakia and its inhabitants properly. Best SlovakiaTours recently organised a 10 day tour of Slovenia, with Tour Guide Martin in charge. We had an excellent and fascinating time in this beautiful country, exploring castles, ancient towns and spectacular gorges.
