このエリアを探索し、周囲の美しさを鑑賞する素晴らしい方法です。比較的簡単なグレード 1 ～ 2 の家族向けトレイルを山々に囲まれた高原を走ります。 推奨ルートは、ハウェアからハウェア川沿いのトレイルをたどってアルバート タウンを通過し、その後クルーサ川に沿ってワナカまで続きます。 途中、ハウェア湖、ペンブローク パティスリー、ワナカ、ワナカ ツリー、エッジウォーター ホテル ガーデン バーなど、訪れるべき興味深い場所がたくさんあります。

When my partner wanted to go skiing for another day and I was quite happy not to, I wanted to do some cycling instead. I'm used to an e-bike, but opted for a traditional MTB for the day. Turned out I was more out of shape than I thought, but good things take effort - and the views along the way more than made up for it. The whole logistical side of things (pick-up, drop-off, bike set-up, route tips and tricks) was impeccable, James made sure I knew exactly where to go.
Had a great day out cycling from Hawea to Wanaka. We only booked on the morning of the trip, but was easy to arrange. James took us (family of four) and showed us all the local points of interest and route. We know the area well so not an issue. In any case its hard to get lost and even if you did, its a nice area so would just mean some more time cycling. It was super windy at Haea but as soon as we were away from the lakefront the rest of the path was reasonbly protected. We had a nice lunch in alberttown, but the rain had started by then. My son was very reluctant to continue, James was nice enough to come and encourage him to finish the ride (rather than just pick him up) - which he did. We got very wet on the last leg into wanaka. If the weather was better we probably would have cycled further around Lake Wanaka. Nevertheless the mountains were dramatic and it was a good way to fill a non skiing day.

This experience was fabulous. I had one of my best days. I times the weather just right - mid winter but beautiful blue skies. Just perfect for this experience. The track was easy to negotiate and the guide (Tristan?) was knowledgeable and super friendly. Highly recommend for a trip to Wanaka
Hugely enjoyable and memorable experience! This trail is a relatively easy ride so would be suitable for those with less experience. The team at NZ Bike Trails are professional and knowledgeable, their e-bikes are excellently maintained and their staff are awesome. Highly recommended!
Fantastic bike ride (had the e-bikes) and incredible trail with amazing scenery. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to explore the Wanaka surrounds. Our family of four (two adult kids 18/20) had an awesome time and was just the right length.
Great day out. James gave a very thorough briefing on the way to the trail head, bikes were in great condition and the weather and scenery were fabulous. Highly recommended
Our “guide” (Tristan) was wonderful, he was Informative and kind. The description of the experience was lacking lots of information on TripAdvisor. 1. If you are an inexperienced mountain biker (using a real bike and not an ebike), this trip will be challenging. 2. It is 30 km. This is never mentioned. 3. TripAdvisor says this trip is for 8-80 year olds. This just isn’t true, unless you are a prior elite cyclist at 80 yrs old. 4. This is a true mountain bike experience! Never mentioned! If looking for an relaxing, enjoyable experience, just rent a bike and stick to Wanaka Trail/Lake. Views are best there anyway.
Hi, thank you for your review. I'm sorry that you felt as though this wasn't the experience for you. nzbiketrails recommends e-bikes on all of our trails and it looks as though you opted for regular bikes on this occasion. I'm sure Tristan would have discussed potentially upgrading to e-bikes on the way to Hawea as on this trail 80% of the bikes that we hire are e-bikes and we often carry spares/upgrades. Tristan would have also stated that if you needed picking up at any time then please just give him a call so if the ride was too long for you we would have been more than happy to come and pick you up. Our average response time is approximately 12 minutes. We regularly take Children as young as 8 years old on our 24" and 26" wheel e-bike fleet and adults in their 70's and 80's providing that they are fit and active - none of them (that we know) are prior elite cyclists - all of them are active, confident on a bike, able to change gears to match the terrain and have typically selected our 'pedal assist' e-bikes. This is consistent with the grading on this trail which is Grade 1-2 'Family Friendly'. I have checked through the booking agents website and have made sure that your feedback is included which we can only thank you for. Unfortunately we cannot control how booking agents change the listings over time. Have a fantastic holiday and thank you for your feedback.
Even if you don't speak English, the guide was kind. The course was not smooth and I enjoyed it.
It was a great, no stress day out. E bike hire and transport included. Pick up at down town Wanaka and transported to our starting point at Lake Hawea. Its a Self paced cruisy ride with the E bike taking the effort out of it and the trail easy to follow. The scenery was varied and so beautiful. Take a picnic lunch as there are so many places to stop and enjoy the picturesque serenity. I highly recommend it and would do it again when I next visit.
