I really liked this cooking class! The teachers were AMAZING, friendly, enthusiastic, and always smiling. They were extremely organized and pleasant. They taught us about Kyoto and I really like learning about background of different Japanese foods. My only complaint would be that the techniques were super easy and i only know basics so was looking for even a slight challenge. A teen could have done this class!

Would highly recommend this activity. Our tutors were friendly, enthusiastic about their cuisine, knowledgeable and engaging. We got to learn a lot about local ingredients and cooking techniques in a relaxed, organised and clean environment. Small group experience and fully English-speaking which made following the instructions very easy. We got to eat the food that we made which was delicious. Couldn’t recommend enough

We had a fantastic time at Cooking Sun! The class was fun, very hands-on, and easy to follow. Our instructor was wonderful, and we really enjoyed both the cooking and the delicious food. A great experience in Kyoto – highly recommended!

Fantastic class. We cooked 6 dishes. Beautiful looking end result with delicious food. Everything was well organised and great instructions from our great teachers. Aircon was wonderful as very hot outside.

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience. The kitchen was well set up and we cooked with 6 others. The recipes were surprisingly easy and very tasty. I need to eat to avoid gluten and dairy and that caused no problems. We were welcomed warmly, all our questions were answered and we made our own lunch that day. I feel confident that I can reproduce the recipes again at home. Don’t hesitate to have a go!

One of the best experiences of our Japan trip. The whole family loved both the meal and the food itself. As soon as we get home, we’re eager to get the right supplies to cook these meals for ourselves.

Fantasic! These are beginner recipes that give you a very good grasp on the necessities and essence of Japanese dishes! The instructors were awesome and ready to answer any questions, and help where needed.

Excellent experience doing the bento cooking class! The two teachers were very pleasant and patient with us. This class was perfect for a beginner cook and I feel confident in recreating these dishes at home. They didn't just explain how to make the dishes, they also explained about the ingredients and nuances between different types of miso and soy sauce which will help me recreate the dishes at home. There was so much food at the end, I couldn't finish it all! They were very accmodating with my food allergies, as well. After I learned about the dishes (miso soup for example), I realized that I could eat those dishes in other restaurants because they don't have the allergens in them that I can't have so this experience was even more valuable to me than just learning how to cook.

The bento box class was great! Super informative and fun! We will most likely try to recreate the recipes at home. Highly recommended 😊
