Perfect evening, very relaxing. Spring the tour guide was increadible. Fishing had plenty of bites and many fish caught, caught differant veriaties, small but increadibly fun. Drinks and toilet on board. Incredible food served on skewers to make it easy to multitask while fiahing. Watching the the sun set on the water was beautiful. Only 4 hours so not drawn out, perfect amount of time. Thank you Spring and you family for a beautiful evening
We had the best of times with Spring and her husband. The trip was absolutely perfect. We had a great boat trip, time for rod fishing, my sons caught 6 fish between them. We also had a crab fishing trip in one of the coconut boats and then a sunset BBQ. The food was fabulous with plenty of cold beers. This was a real highlight of our trip.
Spring and Toan, our husband and wife hosts were so welcoming and the whole experience was magical! We did so many lovely things like pulling up huge nets, coconut basket boats, rod fishing, setting floating lanterns on to the river whilst our lovely provided us with great information and really tasty food they prepared for us on the bbq. The sunset was the perfect backdrop as we ate and fished. What a wonderful experience. I highly recommend!
We joined the fishing, basket boat, BBQ sunset sampan and coconut boat experience through Hoi An Mercy Homestay and it was one of our most memorable activities in Hoi An. The hosts and crew were warm, welcoming and genuinely lovely. Everything felt safe, clean and well organised, which made it easy for our family to fully relax and enjoy the experience. Our 9-year-old absolutely loved the fishing, basket boat ride and all the fun interactive activities. A highlight was watching the crew skilfully make hats, glasses, rings and other creations out of palm leaves in seconds — such a special touch that my son loved. The BBQ dinner on the boat was generous, fresh and delicious, and enjoying it during sunset was beautiful. What I especially appreciated was learning that Toan is passionate about more sustainable fishing practices and preserving fish stocks for future generations, rather than taking everything from the river. It was meaningful to support a local family who clearly cares about both their community and environment. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a more authentic and relaxing experience away from the crowded tourist activities.
Our family of four were welcomed with kindness and generosity. We tried our hand at crab fishing on a traditional coconut boat and braved the coconut boat spin. Afterwards we enjoyed a serene trip on the river whilst fishing and were served a procession of delicious BBQ dishes. A highly recommended tour that delivers a personalised experience, without the crowds. One of a kind and a must in Hoi An.
This is a great tour. We got chance to join the typical ‘Basket boat’ at the start of the evening then on a small boat we were taken to the massive shrimp fishing nets where our sons could climb the bamboo scaffolds to winch the massive nets up. Finally - as the sun set we were taken out in to the estuary for a substantial bbq while we fished with rods. After plenty of food and drink we were taken back to land and a Grab ride home. Hard to beat such a great personal experience.
