バンコクのきらめくグランドパレスは、かつてチャクリー王朝の王たちが住んでいた建築の驚異です。
ワット・ポーはタイの首都で最も古い寺院の一つです。 また、バンコクでも有数の規模を誇る寺院で、仏像のコレクションはタイ一である。 ワット・ポーは、宗教、科学、文学を専門とする、国内で最も初期の公教育の中心地としての称号を保持している。 展示されている仏像のほとんどは、ラーマ1世の命により、アユタヤとスコータイの廃寺からワット・ポーに運ばれたものです。 そしてもちろん、タイ最大級の仏像であるリクライニングブッダも訪れます。
タイの首都での滞在は、バンコクで最も有名なランドマークの1つである「暁の寺院」ワット・アルンを訪れることなくしては終わりません。 アユタヤ陥落後、タクシン王はエメラルド仏を安置する王宮と寺院をこの地に設けた。 寺院の名前は、インドの夜明けの神アルナにちなんで名付けられた。 首都とエメラルド仏がバンコク側のワット・プラケーオに移されて初めて、ワット・アルンは最も顕著な特徴である高さ82メートルのプラング（クメール様式の塔）を受け取った。 ワット・アルンは、バンコク港に寄港した中国語船が古い磁器をバラストとして1トン使用したラタナコシン時代初期に一般的な寺院の装飾であった、壊れた中国語磁器で作られた華やかな花のモザイクで飾られています。
チャオプラヤー川のトンブリー側、クロンバンルアン（バンルアン運河）ののどかなほとりにひっそりと佇む、バンコクの隠れた名所のひとつ 、 「 時が遅くなるような魅力的な川沿いのコミュニティ 」 。 この歴史的な界隈は、伝統的な木造家屋、地元の小さな商店、家族経営のギャラリーで構成され、運河の端に続く木製の歩道で結ばれている。 コンクリートとガラスが街を覆うずっと前のバンコクの日常を垣間見ることのできる貴重なスポットです。 コミュニティの中心にあるのは、200年以上前の木造家屋を美しく修復したバーン・シラピン（Baan Silapin ） 、 通称「芸術家の家」です。 タイ文化の保存と祝福に尽力するこの家は、回転する美術展や手作りの工芸品を楽しめる小さなアートセンターとして機能している。 周辺を散策していると、小さなお店や川沿いの居心地の良いカフェ、何世代にもわたって住み続けているフレンドリーな地元の人たちと出会えます。
トンブリーの運河をクルーズしながら、アユタヤ時代中期に創建された歴史ある寺院、ワット・パークナム・パーシーチャルーンの横を通ります。 パーシーチャルーン地区にあるこの寺院は、古くから仏教の学問と瞑想の中心地であった。 しかし現在では、周囲の屋根の上に劇的にそびえ立ち、街中の遠くからも見える巨大な坐仏像で最もよく知られている。 ボートはここで一旦休止し、畏敬の念を抱かせるこの像を水中から眺めたり、写真を撮ったりすることができます。 高さは20階建てビルに匹敵する70メートル近く、根元の幅は40メートルあり、バンコクで最も高い仏像である。 きらめくゴールドの色調で鋳造されたこの像は、落ち着いた瞑想姿勢で座り、スカイラインと顕著なコントラストを見せている。 寺院で下船することはありませんが、運河の静けさからこの巨像を眺めると、本当にユニークで思い出に残る視点が得られます。
