The venue refused to honour the booking, but not until they had collected us from our hotel and had taken us to the venue. We had no odea where we were or how to get vack to the hotel. They were not helpful at all. We were faced with two options. 1, being left strand there, and finding our own way back, or 2, paying again on the promise of a refund of the original booking. We paid again on this promise. Our refund never transpired though. The subsequent refund request I put in was ignored by both Jam West and Trip Advisor. I paid through a trip advisor Initially. Thankfully my credit card company took the money back off them for me in the end. Travelling to Jamaica again next year but I will never book anything at Jam West again and wont ever book through Trip Advisor again either! Shocking scammy behaviour from both JamWest and TripAdvisor.
We were assured when we arrived there was plenty of time to get two excursions completed on the schedule we were given. After over an hour of sitting around a staff member admitted it was a $hit$how. We go on the jam culture tour which is only seeing snakes, lizards, crocs , etc in janky cages. When we realized there was no way to complete both excursions and make our bus ride home the staff tried to pressure us into signing releases that stated it was our choice to not participate in the other excursion. To top it off on the way back to Montego Bay our driver ventured off the normal path trying to find air for a tire at his brothers house without so much as a heads up as to what was going on. Bad food, bad people for the most part that just want your money, all around a bad experience and nobody there or at Amstar that setup this excursion gives a $hit.
The tour was absolutely amazing. Metro was very knowledgeable af the safari abd provided a lot of information about the animals we saw, sharing with us facts we didn't know. Metro was very personable, and he made the this experience very memorable. We are goibg to recommebd this tour to all of our friends when we go vack to tge States, and we will tell them to look for Metro!!!!
Went on both the ATV and Jamculture tours. Both were awesome!!! Metro was very informative when showing us all the sites on the culture tour & a lil shot of rum never hurt anyone!!!!! Will recommend this tour to all of our friends in Atlanta.
The ATV is so fun. It has muddy holes, hills, tunnels, and a beautiful beach stop, bring phone for picture moment at beach. The tour guides are wonderful.
Travelled with my husband for the triple package, chose ATV, bobsled and jamwest culture tour. Staff were very helpful, but could feel some maybe atmosphere and unhappiness there. The activities were fun and we really enjoyed the ATV and mineral bath. Concerns... the animals.. the birds next to the bar with blaring music, most didn't have water in the bowels, only sunflower seeds and no enrichment. Saw some upsetting bird behaviour exhibited where they are stressed, frustrated and even desperate for attention and interaction. We also went on the safari which took us to the boardwalk, where there were more animals, they again were kept in concerning enclosures, we were expecting to maybe see them in natural habitats, but we saw a giant turtle who apparently loves to dig, and yet was living on concrete floor. Honestly I wanted to cry seeing animals this way, and I know it will be down to resources and funding and also paoibky differences in cultures, but I feel so upset seeing animals this way. I'm caught between if you don't recommend people to go there will be even less funding, but then I don't and can't recommend somewhere that I feel may neglect animals.
We liked our ride (yes a group ride with leu leu tail) on mountain biking. Nothing super exciting but it was still good to see the different courses. The equipment was also good. However for jam culture we were quite disappointed. The guides were very friendly but the content of the tour left much to be desired. I would have liked to learn more about culture. As you can choose the activities to do, we think it would have been beneficial to do another one. Note that we booked this getaway at the hotel (package) which, in addition to three paid activities, included included activities that unfortunately we did not have the chance to do because of the shuttle departure time.
We purchased the ATV package and was only able to do just that. The ATVs were fun the staff was great. However, immediately after the ATVs we were told we had to leave or we would not have a way back to the resort. If this was the case we surely would not have chosen to go with this company. Again the ATVs were fun but the excursion was cut short what a waste of a day and money.
Worst part of my trip was coming here. The ride there from the resort was terrifying. Can’t even walk in good enough $5 for the locker to put the things you were told to bring by the saleswoman. Watched in real time children coming back to parents in tears from being bit by the birds. The ATV rides were awesome, but you needed someone with you in order to ride no matter what and no refund. You have to drive in a straight line and you can’t do anything other than drive the 7.5 mile trail which has no scenery. The helmets or seatbelts weren’t in compliance to anything. We were told that no phones were allowed so we couldn’t take our own ATV pictures (resonable due to safety reasons.) they had a photographer but we still haven’t gotten the photos we paid for. The Tour was okay, but unfortunately was guided by “Metro”, a person who took more interest in being kind for money, reminded me to give him tip then scoffed at the amount even though I didn’t even know I would have to continue to pay despite of already paying to get here. He even proceeded to accost me on why he did not receive more on his tip and proceeded to gaslight and basically bully me for more money as if he would come to the states and pay for an already paid for zoo ride. One old cobra, an iguana, a tortoise, and some chickens. He didn’t even show me the entire bird collection just some chickens like I’m not from Texas where we have all of those things! I would suggest going somewhere that is highly recommended than to book on your own. It’s not worth $350+ USD to get there and $100+ at the gift shop. I can respect hustle, but disrespect falls on deaf ears with me. I literally have tipped everyone that helped me since my arrival and only received a complaint from him. Metro Please don’t travel like you said you would and stay at your day job no one deserves to be troubled with such strange energy. Also you tried to steal the ladies money from the historical stop. Shady man. Pros: The hostess and the travel manager were sweet well put together young women. Didn’t have time to do the mineral bath but I heard it was nice. Rock climbing looked fun but of course couldn’t try it because I ran out of money to tip for the “free amenities”.
The ATV tour and mini safari tour were really good. You get at least a good 30 min ride with decent terrain and good scenery.
