Our family of five took this cooking class with Dionysia and her husband and we had the best time! They were so fun and personable (and patient!). We felt like we actually learned something about Greek cooking and the food was delicious in the end. Five out of five stars! Highly recommend!
We had such an amazing experience with Eat With Your Greek Cousin! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere was warm, authentic, and so much more personal than a typical cooking class. The food was absolutely delicious, and we learned not only how to prepare traditional Greek dishes but also the stories and traditions behind them. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, and you could really feel the passion for Greek culture and hospitality. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Athens and an experience we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a genuine local experience, incredible food, and wonderful hosts, this is an absolute must-do. Highly recommended – 5 stars!
This was a fantastic experience! We had another couple as well as a family of 5 in our group, and our hosts made this such a sweet memory. They welcomed us into their lofted facility to cook, and served us refreshing drinks throughout. They did a great job of giving you space to cook yourself, within your comfort/skill level. They were so sweet with the children from another part of our group and made their day brighter too!
If you want more than just a cooking class, book a lesson here with this team. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family, like her own “students” Dionysia genuinely cared about, not just tourists passing through for an afternoon. What stood out most was how thoughtful and detailed she was with every single step. She didn’t just show us how to cook, she explained the why behind each dish, weaving in Greek traditions and the stories behind the recipes. You can tell this isn’t just a job for her. She’s genuinely passionate about sharing her culture and her craft. The food itself was amazing, fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. Her warmth, patience, and humor made the whole experience feel less like a lesson and more like cooking with a beloved relative. It really did feel like eating with your Greek cousin. I’d recommend this experience to absolutely anyone looking for a fun, authentic, and memorable experience in Greece. Whether you’re a beginner in the kitchen or a seasoned cook, you’ll leave with new skills, a full belly, and a big smile. Can’t wait to come back!
We had a wonderful hands on experience with “the cousins”! Great hands on experience in a fun environment and the food was delicious! It was in a very convenient location.
Such a great experience. Our hosts were so personable and made the experience great in every sense. We were in Athens a short time before heading back home and this was the experience we needed
My husband, our 8-year-old daughter, and I had an amazing time. Gyros may be one of Greece’s most famous foods, but making it yourself and enjoying it fresh is a completely different experience that we would recommend to everyone. This didn’t feel like a typical cooking class at all—it felt more like being welcomed into someone’s home. Even the pita is made from scratch, and that alone makes such a huge difference. It gave us a real appreciation for what authentic gyros is supposed to taste like. The entire atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and personal, with plenty of natural conversation about food, family, and Greek culture throughout the class. Our daughter especially enjoyed being involved in the cooking process and learning about traditional Greek cuisine in such a fun and engaging way. Dionysia and the team are incredibly kind and welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely love sharing their culture and passion for cooking with their guests ❤️ We left with full stomachs, wonderful memories, and new skills that we’ll be excited to use at home. If you’re visiting Athens, don’t miss this experience—it was one of the highlights of our trip!
Best cooking class we’ve taken!!!! They weren’t kidding when they said it’s like cooking with your Greek cousin. We absolutely adored working with Minas. My husband and I have taken a bunch of cooking classes and this one was by far the most hands on from start to finish and we will definitely be able to recreate these at home. It was really nice to spend the evening with an actual local and get a true family owned experience. Also, any food that you don’t eat you can take home. If you don’t take it home, they donate it!! It was an amazing experience and great people.
We had such an amazing time during the cooking class. We learned how to make gyros and the process was so fun- the hosts made it very easy to learn and made jokes and shared stories the entire time. It was one of my favorite experiences on vacation and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys cooking, eating, or trying something new! The gyros were absolutely delicious and we were with such a fun group and amazing hosts!
The class was fantastic! The instructor and her family run the class. It was well organized, started on time and they worked well as a team. The instructor is an excellent communicator; her instructions were easy to follow and clear. Even for someone who might not have much experience in the kitchen. She has a great sense of humor and had the ability to make everyone feel like they were part of her family and participating in preparing a family meal just like they would in Greece. The whole experience felt very authentic. The food we prepared was excellent. Everything was made from scratch. Everyone was able to make their own pita bread, sauces, dessert and assist with seasoning the meat. The ingredients were fresh, the seasonings were flavorful and better than we get in the US. If you like great food and unique food experiences, you’ll like this class!
