プロピュライアはアテネのアクロポリスへの記念碑的な出入り口であり、ペルシア戦争終結から1世代後にアクロポリスを再建するためにアテネの指導者ペリクレスが委託したいくつかの公共事業の1つでした。
パルテノン神殿は、アテネ民主主義と西洋文明の永遠の象徴である処女神アテナに捧げられた主要な神殿です。人間の精神と天才がこれまでに考え出した最高のものを収容する建築の宝石であり、有名な姉妹大理石が再び家に迎え入れられるのを待っている開かれた抱擁です。
エレクテイオンはギリシャのアテネのアクロポリスの北側にある古代ギリシャの神殿で、アテナとポセイドンの両方に捧げられています。
アテナ ニケ神殿は、アテネのアクロポリスにある、女神アテナとニケに捧げられた神殿です。紀元前 420 年頃に建てられたこの神殿は、アクロポリスで最も古い完全なイオニア式神殿です。アクロポリスの南西隅、入り口のプロピュライアの右側にある急峻な稜堡の上に、目立つ位置にあります。アクロポリス本体は壁で囲まれた聖域で、プロピュライアから入りますが、勝利の聖域は開放されており、プロピュライアの南西の翼と北側の狭い階段から入ります。稜堡の切り立った壁は、北、西、南をニケ欄干で守られていました。ニケ欄干は、勝利を祝い、守護神であるアテナとニケに犠牲を捧げるニカイのフリーズにちなんで名付けられました。
ヘロデス・アティコス音楽堂は、ギリシャのアテネのアクロポリスの南西斜面に位置する石造りのローマ劇場です。この建物は西暦 161 年に完成し、1950 年に改装されました。
ディオニュソス劇場は、アテネにある古代ギリシャの劇場です。アクロポリスの丘の南斜面に建てられており、もともとはディオニュソス エレウテレウスの聖域の一部でした。最初のオーケストラ テラスは紀元前 6 世紀中ごろから後半にかけてこの場所に建設され、都市ディオニュシア祭が開催されました。この劇場は紀元前 4 世紀にリュクルゴスの支配下で最大規模に達し、収容人数は 17,000 人に達し、ローマ時代まで継続的に使用されていました。その後、ビザンチン時代には荒廃し、19 世紀まで特定、発掘、現在の状態に復元されませんでした。
アクロポリスの後は、ハドリアヌスの門を通って、神々の王に捧げられた古代最大のゼウス神殿に向かいます。アクロポリスとイリソス川の間には、アテネで最も重要かつ最古の神殿の 1 つであるオリンピアゼウス神殿 (現在はオリンピアゼウスの柱として知られています) の遺跡があります。この空間は今日でも訪問者に壮大さを感じさせます。
続いて、近代オリンピック第1回大会の会場となった、ペンテリコ大理石で造られた見事なパナシナイコスタジアムを訪れます。このスタジアムには、今日でもオリンピックの理念が反映されています。
美しいカリマルマロを後にした後は、リカヴィトスの丘まで車で向かいます。ここでは、街の美しいパノラマビューを楽しみ、上空から古代と現代のアテネの融合を鑑賞できます。その後、街の歴史的中心部に移動し、アテネで最も高い丘であるリカヴィトスの丘まで車で向かいます。ここからは、アクロポリスの丘からエーゲ海まで、街の最高のパノラマビューをお楽しみいただけます。
シンタグマ広場（憲法広場）はアテネの中心広場です。この広場は、1843 年 9 月 3 日の民衆と軍の蜂起後にギリシャ初代国王オットーが発布を義務付けられた憲法にちなんで名付けられました。この広場は 19 世紀の旧王宮の前に位置し、1934 年以来ギリシャ議会が置かれています。シンタグマ広場は、歴史的にも社会的にも現代アテネで最も重要な広場であり、商業活動とギリシャ政治の中心地です。シンタグマという名前だけでも、広場の周囲の地域を指すことがあります。
ギリシャ議会はギリシャの議会で、アテネのシンタグマ広場を見下ろす旧王宮にあります。議会は、国会議員の選出された団体を通じて国民を代表する最高民主主義機関です。国家衛兵と無名戦士の記念碑の眺め。写真を撮るためにちょっと立ち寄ります。
無名戦士の墓は、アテネのシンタグマ広場にある旧王宮前の戦争記念碑である。 戦争で戦死したギリシャ兵に捧げられた慰霊碑である。 1930年から1932年にかけて彫刻家のフォキオン・ロクによって彫刻された。 墓は大統領警護隊のエヴゾーンによって守られている。
アテネ アカデミーはギリシャの国立アカデミーであり、同国最高レベルの研究機関です。アカデミー ビルは「建築三部作」の 3 つの部分のうちの 1 つです。1926 年 3 月 18 日の憲法布告により、科学、人文科学、美術のアカデミーとして設立されました。
アテネ大学は 1837 年の設立以来、継続的に運営されており、現代ギリシャ国家で最も古い高等教育機関であり、バルカン半島と東地中海の両方で最初の現代大学です。今日、登録学生数は 69,000 人を超え、ヨーロッパで最大の大学の 1 つです。アテネ大学は、1837 年 5 月 3 日にギリシャのオットー王によって設立され、彼に敬意を表してオトニア大学と名付けられました。解放されたギリシャ国家および南東ヨーロッパの周辺地域で最初の大学でした。

Yiannis our guide was lovely and very hospitable. He drove smoothly in an air-conditioned car. We were expecting a guided tour for Acropolis and to be able to go into the Olympics stadium so that was a little disappointing but the rest was good.

The tour allowed us to see and visit many of the Athens historical sites. The tour included tickets to the Acropolis and to the Acropolis museum (which I highly recommend). The tour guide was friendly, fun and knowledgeable. This was a great 1/2 day tour.

Perfect tour of Athens. Our guide, Christiano, was exceptionally knowledgeable, well-organized, and punctual. He had all of our tickets ready for each site, making every stop seamless. Excellent communication from the onset. I changed our pick up time and drop off location a couple of times and everything was easily accommodated. Same went for what we wanted to see and how long we wanted to stay at a given place. Our guide, Thodoris even had water and some small surprises for us.

We loved our driver Tomas! He knew just where to drop us off so that we could easily access the acropolis. He brought water and small snacks. I liked that our tour had acropolis tickets included. That way the driver could time everything. And we could skip the ticket line. He also drove us all over showing us many of the sights of Athens. We would highly recommend!

We enjoyed getting picked up at our hotel and Nick was great at telling us all about Athens. Our family would have liked having a guide inside the monuments to learn more. But overall it was a great day and the guide was very informative.
