花崗岩の採石場は、古代エジプト人にピラミッドや寺院で使用されるほとんどの硬い石を供給しました。採石場には、未完成のオベリスクが残っています。これは、もともとカルナックにあったが、現在はローマにあるラテランオベリスクの仲間となることを意図したものです。それは1,100トン以上の重さであり、これまでに扱われた世界最大の石片でした。 アギルカ島のフィラエ神殿。神殿は、オシリスの姉妹/妻であり、プトレマイオス朝の守護神であるイシスに捧げられました。

The visit went superbly well. Our guide, Mr Milad, gave us a lot of exciting information about the history of the Philae temple and captivated us throughout the excursion. Many thanks also to its driver, who allowed us to move comfortably between the different sites. We really enjoyed this experience. Very nice excursion, I highly recommend!

Third temple I visited but first time to understand that temples have sections e.g. main court, 2nd court, vestibule, sanctuary. This is a highly recommended trio. Beshoy, my guide was awesome
