We booked Olimjon's Aral Sea Experience through GetYourGuide, and we were immediately impressed with his very thorough communication leading up to the trip, making sure that we had all the information, itinerary and details that we needed. He met with us the day before the trip, provided us with podcasts and short videos of the sites we were going to visit and checked up on us during the trip. We had a lot of fun on the trip itself and it was fascinating to see the Aral Sea after learning about the disaster beforehand. The Savitsky Museum of Art in Nukus on the way was also a particular highlight.

Prior to the trip, I met with the owner of the business (Olimjon Saidmamatov - find him on LinkedIn) to discuss the plan. An impressive and likeable man with a PhD in “Developing Ecotourism in the Aral Sea Region of Uzbekistan”. The trip was organised and implemented with the quality you would expect from such a person. It went exactly as promised, with quality transport in a saloon/sedan car with an English speaking driver to Moynaq, then onwards in a good quality 4x4 to the Aral Sea shore - passing all the top sites on both journeys, in a timeframe that suited my needs. Plus he supplied extra audioguides by WhatsApp. Good operator, good tour. I would recommend Oxus Travel

It was a great trip to the Aral Sea that I can only recommend. The car ride is long, but very entertaining due to the many stops along the way. My driver was also very nice and accommodating, and spoke good English. An absolute highlight of my Uzbekistan trip!

If you are going out to Nukus, you should definitely spend a night and go to see the coast of the Aral sea. It's a very long way put, and that distance helps you appreciate the scale of the disaster. Plus the tour stop at the necropolis and the Tower of Silence was way cool! The drivers are great, friendly, and trustworthy. Just note that in the summer the Yurts are very hot and stuffy, so be prepared!

This was such a well-run, and just breathtaking tour. As someone who lives in Kazakhstan, but originally from the UK, I was really hoping to visit Western Uzbekistan whilst living in Central Asia, and this tour did not disappoint. From Olimjon visiting us the night before to go through the itinerary with us again, to getting to swim in the Aral Sea, play dress up with the yurt camp owners and see wild camels, the tour was unlike anything I had experienced before, both in terms of organisation and being checked in with and the once in a life time experiences we got to be a part of. If you're thinking about visiting the lesser-seen parts of Western Uzbekistan I would REALLY recommend this tour!!

My friends and I had a wonderful experience on our 2-day trip to the Aral Sea. Olimjon was so helpful and checked in on us throughout the trip. Our drivers were lovely and taught us so much about the history and the culture of the region. It was a truly unique and breathtaking experience to get to see the Aral Sea and the surrounding area. It's a trip I'll always remember and feel so grateful to Oxus Travel and Olimjon for having organized it!
