I would highly recommend touring with Dima! He was so knowledgeable and personable, and very open with making the tour experience exactly how we wanted it. It was a little awkward in a group of strangers who weren’t very vocal, but you could tell Dima did his best to accommodate everyone’s wishes. Towards the end of the tour he even asked us if we still wanted to go down to see the water, because another guest had asked earlier. He was willing to go do that even though it was dark and stormy at that point, but the guest that expressed that interest previously never spoke up when he asked the group again. We got to see some cool wildlife, and he tried so hard to spot us a porcupine, you can tell how much he cared about providing the best experience for us. Thanks again, Dmytro!

Our activity guide was very knowledgeable and informative. He took us all over the island to spot bison, antelope and pronghorn. He also took us to a great spot for a short hike to be able to see an awesome sunset before the storm set in. Dima would also ask our group what we wanted to do and he made it happen. When it got too dark he even asked if we still wanted to go down to the water. However, mostly everyone decided to skip the water part because the wind and rain had already started and it was getting late. My daughter, sister and 7 year old granddaughter had a great adventure and would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves animals and wants to learn the history of Salt Lake City, The Great Salt Lake, the Mormons, Antelope Island and Utah.

The guide is very knowledgeable about animals, so we managed to see bison herd crossing and deers. Despite the weather, we get to see sunset among the clouds and a lovely yellow hue on the salt lake.

Our guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. We saw a lot of wildlife which is why we when. However, the trip could have been much shorter. The first two hours we barely saw anything and the guide said the wildlife is better seen soon before sunset. And it was amazing. But not sure why we needed to drive around for hours before that 😢

It was awesome! Dmytro was super knowledgeable. He was determined to find us wildlife and stopped at many different places to get us up close and personal with bison! He was really good about personalizing the trip for us with extra stops we asked for including hiking a bit and getting down to touch the water! The cost of trip was very reasonable - the tour lasts about 6 hours - that's only like $17/hour. And he provided water and snacks as well! Definitely one of the best tour guides we've ever had!!!

The experience was amazing. I wasn’t super exited at first but seeing the wildlife and everything was so great. The guide was the kindest person I have ever met. You get snacks, cold water, binoculars, and umbrellas if it is hot. It was a good price and just the guide was great. One person in our group was complaining because he wanted to go despite the guide telling us everything. Overall great experience and the guide was so kind!

The Antelope Island Sunset tour was the best part of our Salt Lake City vacation. We were picked up at our hotel in a comfortable sprinter van. Cold water and (allergy friendly) snacks were offered throughout the tour. Dima shared a lot of history and facts about Utah and the local area. He was funny and engaging and worked hard to make sure everyone enjoyed the tour. He even went searching through the trees to find a porcupine for us to look at! The views were breathtaking- exactly the kind of sights you come to SLC for. We saw bison, antelope, birds, and a bunny. It was a nice combination of riding in air conditioning and getting out to walk or hike. The sunset view was so beautiful! We were dropped off at our hotel at the end and slept like logs. Would do this tour again in a heartbeat.

My boys and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Antelope Island with Dima from Matei Travel. The tour was amazing. We saw lots of wildlife close up and beautiful scenery. Dima has a wealth of knowledge and is enthusiastic and energetic, always sharing his knowledge and making the trip comfortable and enjoyable.
