Our guide Rui sent a note the day before to introduce himself and confirm our pick up time. The day of out tour he was prompt, introduced himself with a smile, and our adventure started. Since we chose 9am pick up, we were going to do the cave boat tour first which was unbelievable and memorable. After that he asked if lunch was of interest and since we agreed he took us to his favorite Mar e Sol right on the beach. The people were great, the service the same, and the food wonderful and lots of it for all of us to share and enjoy. It felt like we were visiting a friend that lived in Portugal and wanted to share everything he loved about his country! He took us to small towns that he enjoys with his family so we can as well. So much to see and take in, too bad not too much time. Overall it was a very enjoyable and full day! Hope we can return for a longer stay and have Rui as our guide again 😊
Amazing adventure! Highlight of our time in Portugal. Jose made the trip so smooth. Highly recommend both the hike and boat trip. Don’t let anyone tell you it is too far - so worth it! And bring your swimmers for extra fun!
This was an amazing trip! José was so great and told us many things about the areas we were visiting and also interesting things about Portugal. The views were amazing and everything was so much fun. Be ready for the ride back on the boat from the caves it can get a bit bumpy. Highly recommend this trip!

We had a great time. The Bengali Caves and Algarve region is truly beautiful. Our driver was very amenable to whatever we were inclined to do. We really didn’t know much about the area or what we could see so it would have been helpful to have clearly laid out options in advance mapping out what ways we could have spent the day. It was a wonderful time. He’s very kind but more reserved, not a typical gregarious tour guide.
Colin, thank you for taking the time to write this — I'm glad the Algarve day left you with good memories. That coastline and the Benagil caves have a way of doing that. On the options for the day: they are actually laid out in real detail beforehand, in the itinerary you'd have received ahead of the tour, and I'm sure our team went through them with you again on the day itself. I do take the point that a region you don't know yet can still feel like a lot to take in on the spot, so it's a fair thing to flag. As for the pace — sometimes we hold back a little on purpose, reading how a guest prefers to spend the day rather than filling it with constant chatter. If it came across as reserved, that was likely a choice made in the moment, not a lack of warmth. I hope it didn't take anything away from the day itself. The area was beautiful and we enjoyed seeing it. Our tour guide was not interested in talking or explaining anything to us. He spent a lot of time on his phone.

Our tour guide Marta described the points of interest during the 3hr comfortable ride from Lisbon to the boat dock. We also felt very safe with her driving ability. My friend was not sure footed walking the cliffs but Marta assisted in order for her to see the magnificent views from above. During the boat ride along the algarve coastline, we entered several caves including the magnificent Bengali and received details about each of their formations. After a dip in the ocean., Marta arranged a delicious meal at a seaside restaurant for us. This is a great tour and I would recommend you request Marta as your guide if she is available. Viator has never disappointed us.

This was a great experience. It was a very long day trip from Lisbon but our tour guide, Marta, keep it interesting and the time flew by. She gave us a lot of interesting information as we drve through the country side. Marta was very accommodating and changed up some things so we could do everything that we wanted to see. She also had a great recommendation for lunch and took pictures of my wife and I. The cliffs had a fantastic view. Since it was a windy day and we could not go out on the water into the caves. Our guide arranged a trip to the Chapel of Bones in Faro. Would highly recommend this tour and would very highly recommend Marta as the guide.

We experienced a PHENOMENAL private tour of The Algarve from Lisbon on May 20 with our tour guide, Jose.
