It was a wonderful experience would recommend it to all families. The views are spectacular both ways.
The ride to the island was quick and alchatraz itself was very interesting. It was windy and chilly at times so wear layers.
Getting off the island is a huge pain and can take an hour. Felt like a prisoner in Alcatraz. Would not recommend
Really enjoyed the tour and experience. But it was a last minute decision. Viator had tickets but at $110/pp. The normal price is $48. Plan ahead.

Make it clearer that you need to collect your tickets which are a good 15/20 minute walk away from the pier
The office where you pick up the tickets is a 20 minute walk to pier 33 where the ferry departs. Some communication about this would have been very helpful. Thankfully we made it before it left.
Probably it was the most expensive "night" ticket for the exploration of Alcatraz. I already visited Alcatraz 3 years ago and had a regular ticket - I can't see the difference, so this time it was a huge mistake - a huge wasting of time and money!!! Never again! Buy a regular ticket not that "night" exploration one.
Good customer service, helpful people on the phone and at the location to pick up my vouchers. Would recommend
