タージ・マハルの歴史は愛と喪失の壮大な物語を中心としている：ムガル皇帝シャー・ジャハーンは、1631年に14人目の子供を産んで亡くなった最愛の妻ムムターズ・マハルのために壮麗な霊廟として依頼した。 白い大理石で建てられ、貴石が嵌め込まれたこの複合体は、約22年（完成～1653年）をかけて2万人の職人が制作し、ムガル建築の頂点となり、永遠の愛を象徴するユネスコの世界遺産にも登録された。 アーグラ城砦の歴史はムガル人以前に始まったが、1565年から1573年頃に赤砂岩の要塞と首都として再建したのはアクバル皇帝であり、レンガ造りの城砦（バダルガル）を壮大な城壁に囲まれた都市と軍事拠点へと変貌させた。 ジャハーンギールやシャー・ジャハーンのような後継者は、精巧な白大理石の宮殿、モスク、ホール（Diwan-i-Khas）を追加した。 1638年までムガル帝国の主要な住居として機能し、戦闘を目撃し、有名なところではシャー・ジャハーンの牢獄となり、彼は死ぬまでムサンマン・ブルジュからタージ・マハルを眺め、その後陥落する

We had amazing experience with our tour guide Sahil during our sight seeing in Agra. We found Sahil really polite, knowledgeable and helpful throughout our tour. He helped us to shop from genuine places and also took to halal restaurants.He made our trip enjoyable and comfortable.
