Great learning experience, lovely guide

Moshi was attentive, knowledgeable, very personable and helped my 80 year old mom ever step of our tour. She answered all our questions and provided us with great information. She made our first day and time in Cairo great. Also she helped us book another tour. She was wonderful! I did not give the 5 stars because the tour description said pyramids and museum. However we ended up visiting a spice, papyrus, and essence/perfumes shops where we were sold using very persuasive tactics very expensive and over priced products. I would recommend to disclose these stops to give the customer the choice. Being a person that feels the pressure to buy after tasting products and listening to lengthy explanations; we ended up spending a lot more than we planned on things that are not necessarily and as I said highly overpriced. That being said, I highly recommend the tour and sweet Moshi.

Grateful for pyramid tour.

Our tour guide and driver were both professional and accommodating. The Pyramids and Sphinx were awe inspiring and the camel ride was truly a once and a life event. I loved the stop to learn about Egypt culture and industries such as Parfums, essential oils and jewelry making specific to Egypt. When I travel, I embrace the attributes of the particular culture that I am Visiting and never project my United States experience onto my travel experiences. Each citizen of the world is unique and different. These differences spark my curiosity and desire to see more and learn more. Thank you to my tour company for providing such opportunity. God Bless, Caroline, Norris, Angelina, Joseph, Taylor and Chase.

Beautiful Overview of Egyptian History

Our guide Zeneb was lovely. She and our driver picked us up at our hotel and she gave excellent proactive communication. As we drove to the pyramids, she told us about modern day Cairo and pointed out points of interest along the way. We were still quite jet lagged so Zeneb gave us an easy pace. She gave us interesting facts about the pyramids and the sphinx, made sure we felt no pressure to purchase anything from the shops we visited, and even gave us a small gift. She also was very knowledgeable about the museum. She even offered to help us if we needed anything through out the rest of our travels. It was a delightful overview.

A must see when in Cairo

The pyramids were amazing. It was a long awaited trip to understand and see as much as possible. The guide did not seem interested to take us to all parts and seemed reluctant to walk too far but kept saying as you like. The enthusiasm was lacking. We wanted to get closer to the spinx but was told by the guide that VIP tickets had to be purchased in advance and too expensive and not worth it for 2 persons and more suitable for large groups which was disappointing. The guide also advised not to bother with going inside the pyramid due to the cramped conditions but found out later that this was for only a small part of the exploration. The museum was amazing. Culturally rich and lots to see and appreciate. Well worth the investment.

Giza, museum and many tourist traps

The guide was very nice. He told us the necessary facts and gave us a tour to the pyramids and the museum. However, it felt sometimes there was a lack of energy or passion. We did not go up close to the Sfinx and did not spend a lot of time at the pyramids. In the museum, he did not join us in every room and gave us one hour or free time while he was in the coffee shop. So we had to listen to other guided explaining to their groups. After the pyramids, we were taken by the guide from one tourist trap to another; “ real aromatherapy” and the “only real papyrus institute” (while all buildings say it) - all set-up to get money from tourists. You get some info and afterwards you are basically being forced to buy something for a high price. This felt forced, not like we gained an experience but like we lost money. The tour was better then the arranged one from our hotel so I would recommend but just prepare this is the situation over there in Caïro as it is very tourist focused.

Mixed Experience: Good Start at Giza, but Rushed GEM Visit and Uncomfortable Shop Stops

The tour started well. Amr and Mikel were at the indicated location on time, and we began with the visit to the Giza Pyramids. Mikel explained many things with enthusiasm, was a good photographer, and also helped protect us from scammers, which we appreciated. However, things started to feel less positive when we were near the Sphinx. We did not really get close to it, as we were told that entering that area would require paying a large extra amount, which would only make sense for bigger groups. That was a little confusing because we could see other tourists much closer to the Sphinx. We trusted the explanation, but in the end we left the Giza Plateau at around 10:15, meaning we spent about 1 hour and 45 minutes there, not the three hours promised. Maybe if we had entered the Khufu Pyramid, the timing would have been different, but it still felt shorter than expected. Since there was still time before lunch, Mikel suggested visiting a “trusted” oils and perfume shop. He repeated that we did not have to buy anything, but the atmosphere made it difficult, especially for introverts. We were seated in a room with a vendor, offered drinks, and overwhelmed with suggestions. We ended up buying a small bottle, but back at the hotel we realized it did not last as promised and did not feel like the essence shown to us. After checking Google Maps, we found many complaints saying that the shop was a tourist trap. After that, Mikel suggested a papyrus “museum”, which we politely refused. He then suggested a souvenir shop, and since we were looking for souvenirs, we accepted. But once there, we again found ourselves alone in a bazaar with vendors, and it also felt like a tourist trap. This time we decided not to buy anything. To be fair, Mikel did not get upset. Lunch was good. It was an open buffet, the food was clean, varied, and tasty. The only small detail is that drinks are not included, and tips are expected, but there was no real pressure. After lunch, we went to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Unfortunately, this part also felt rushed. The guided visit lasted about one hour, then we were left in the Tutankhamun gallery and told we could have 20 minutes of free time before meeting again. We managed to extend our visit to around two hours by exploring the solar boats and the official store on our own. But at that point, what was supposed to be a guided tour felt more like a taxi service, as from around 2 PM to 4 PM we were mostly alone. One positive point is Amr’s availability. We felt that he was nearby and helped facilitate the day. Overall, the tour had some good moments, especially at the beginning in Giza and thanks to Amr’s support, but it did not fully match our expectations for an 8-hour guided tour. The visits to shops felt uncomfortable and tourist-oriented, and the GEM part was too rushed.

Excellent Guide and tour!

The tour was excellent! I couldn’t have asked for a better tour. Islam was our guide and he was super knowledgeable and kind. He took us to an amazing perfume/oil store and I wish I would have purchased more. My husband is getting so many compliments. The pyramids were amazing and Islam took the best pictures. Would definitely book again

8 hours really is not enough, But what a great tour!

A full day private tour of the ancient Egypt, well presented with respect to the nature. Mahmoud Hoka, our tour guide was well educated, knowledgeable, friendly, and a great photographer, while our driver was efficient and careful on the crazy roads of Cairo. We started with a peaceful camel ride around the panorama of Giza, then walked through the great pyramids and the sphinx with lots of storytelling regarding the monuments. We took a break by having a buffet lunch in a very nice restaurant before we head to the new Grand Egyptian Museum. It is simply incredible, our guide Mahmoud knowing that we could not see it all in the time we had available offered to show us the highlights and he did an excellent job. My wife & I highly recommended this tour and feel it was completely worth it.
