We had an amazing food tour with Dhanashree in August 2026. We live in London and love eating out, but I booked this as a surprise tour for my partner's birthday. It was an incredible mix of regular/quick bites and sit down meals. In fact, the "secret" spot we've now been back to twice to order what the guide recommended off menu. I'd highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in Indian food and East London history and culture.

Given his Indian roots, Riki, my guide made the Indian food tour authentic and intimate. The food portions were ideal and the mix faithfully represented Indian food in London. The highlights were the tadka daal and Peshawari naan.

Dhanashree created the most tasty, interesting and fun tour I could have imagined. On a solo trip to London, I booked the tour in order to experience a neighborhood I had not explored as well as to learn about and taste Indian food. By chance, I was the only participant and Dhanashree warmly welcomed me and tailored the tour to my interests and pace. She was extremely knowledgable not only about the Indian food- ingredients, preparation and cultural significance but also about the history of the neighborhood. The tour included stops a specialty food stores and markets as well as sampling of wonderful dishes at neighborhood restaurants. Every curated dish was delicious. she provided wonderful notes of the locations we visited as well as recipes that I am eager to try. On this much anticipated solo trip, the tour with Dhanashree was the absolute highlight!

Jez is a fabulous tour guide! He provided so much helpful context for the food we were tasting. He knew a lot about the ingredients, spices and history of the foods, and shared interesting family stories around food. And the food was amazing! There was a nice variety from different cultural contexts which was appreciated. Highly recommended!! I would absolutely do another tour with him or Secret Food Tours.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Secret Indian Food Tour of East London! Rickey, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and cultural influences of the area. He took us to everything from hidden, local “hole-in-the-wall” spots to historic restaurants that are staples of East London’s Indian food scene. A fantastic experience and highly recommended!

Riki was an extraordinary guide to Brick Lane, an incredibly diverse corner of Tower Hamlets in East London. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the neighborhoods' history. As we made our way to our destinations he identified the origin of many of the present day restaurants and cafes that lined the streets- from all over Asia and beyond. The restaurants Riki selected were phenomenal. Riki was a great host, inviting us and the other members of our tour to share our own experiences with the cuisine and ask questions. He also took a few group photos of us and included them in his follow up email that listed the restaurants we visited, the dishes were had, as well as a crash course in South Asian spices and his own signature Curry Chicken recipe. It was a fantastic highlight of our first trip to London, enabling us to try high quality new foods, meet new people, and learn more about the area we stayed in. I highly recommend it if you go to London.

Riki was extremely personable, knowledgeable and engaging. There was only us and another couple on the tour so we always felt included. The food was exceptional and each serving/course was explained to us with regards to ingredients and origins. In between restaurants and courses, Riki availed us with the local history of the area and identification and uses of spices used in the cooking. The whole evening was thoroughly enjoyable both through our fellow guests but especially Riki. We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour and definitely return should we visit the "East End" again

Fantastic evening with Ricky exploring the Indian markets and cuisine of Whitechapel! We learned so much about Indian spices, as well as traditional preparation and cooking techniques. The food was absolutely amazing—you definitely won’t go home hungry! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and had such a fun and informative evening.
