Nine trekkers. One mighty mountain. And a team of true heroes. 🏔️❤️
We have just returned from climbing Kilimanjaro via the Machame route, with our entire adventure planned and managed by Kilimanjaro Heroes. We came home with memories for a lifetime and enough stories to tell our children and grandchildren until they politely beg us to stop! 😂
So, what makes Kili Heroes special? We arrived as clients and left feeling like family. Professional, caring and wonderfully warm, they made us feel looked after every step of the way.
From morning wake ups with tea and coffee to hearty breakfasts, lunches and dinners, they somehow brought comfort to a place where even putting on your socks could feel like an expedition. There were daily health checks, advice on managing altitude, and lovely stories along the trail always with patience, kindness and another encouraging “pole pole.”
But summit night was when these heroes truly shone.
At 2 am, when we were freezing, sleepy and seriously questioning our life’s choices, they were singing, dancing and keeping our spirits alive. Where were they finding this energy? We could barely walk!
Then, at 5 am, came hot ginger tea as the first orange glow lit up the sky. On that cold, exhausting climb, that little cup felt like the greatest luxury in the world. 🧡
All nine of us reached the summit. Behind every tired step was someone reminding us that we could take one more.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful guides:
❤️ Wency Machibya, our main leader
❤️ Jackline Emanuel, our iron woman
❤️ Selleman Ngaina, David Masanja and Calvin Mlay, who walked beside us through every challenge, every laugh and every “How much further?” And comforting us with “ it’s almost done”!
To the cooks and the entire support crew - thank you for the care and effort that made this journey possible.
And to our incredible porters, who carried so much more than our bags: you carried our spirits through those mountains. Your strength, kindness and hard work will stay with us long after our legs have recovered.
This summit belongs as much to you as it does to us. We stood on the Roof of Africa because you helped us believe we could and stayed beside us until we did. 🏔️
Our pole pole journey is forever etched in our hearts. We are back in Singapore but our hearts are still at Kili and with all of you.
Nakupenda — I love you. ❤️
Asante sana — Thank you so much. 🙏
Hakuna matata — No worries… our guides had enough energy for all of ours! 😂

Excellent Guides and Outstanding Service
I just got back from climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro Heroes, and had a wonderful experience.
Our lead guide Wency, and all othwr guides, porters and staff member was helpful and very caring. They paid attention to each one of us and adjusted the pace according to our needs. They made sure everyone was comfortable and supported throughout the climb.
Without Wency and Kelvin’s support, I honestly don’t think I would have made it to the summit. I am really grateful for their help.
Just to name a few staff, Jacky was extremely helpful to everyone and David had taken some excellent photos for us. Junior's energy was unmatched and his forever smile will make any one smile.
The food at the camps was also good, and I especially became a big fan of their soups 😊.
Overall, the whole team took very good care of us throughout the trek.
We also did the Serengeti safari with Kilimanjaro Heroes. Eli was our guide and driver. He not only drove us safely throughout the safari but was also excellent at spotting animals. He made sure we got to see all the Big Five, including the black rhino, which was a very special experience.
I can’t recommend Kilimanjaro Heroes enough. Communication was great throughout, and all the logistics were handled smoothly. From the Kilimanjaro climb to the Serengeti safari, it was a fantastic experience, and the entire team made it even more special.

Excellent Company, Excellent Experience
Kilimanjaro Heroes is an excellent guiding company. As I was planning the trip, Evarist was diligent about communicating with me in a timely manner and was very responsive and accommodating to my questions and needs. Logistics went flawlessly. Wency was a superb guide - very experienced, very outgoing and personable, attentive, and fun. The crew he put together to be porters and the chef were great. I smile just thinking about them and their positive energy, big smiles, and ever-ready assistance. Going with a smaller company such as Kilimanjaro Heroes has the great benefits of allowing a more customized trip, but more importantly, a more intimate experience with the guide and crew. I felt like we were all working as a team and rooting for each other as we went through our days. Lastly, I am a Safety Director for an outdoor trip company and I can say with expertise that this organization is professional, organized, and has client experience and safety at the center.

Asante Sana
Everything was perfect, not just a trip but an experience to have at least once in a lifetime, one of those that stays in the mind and heart.. The porters and guides, besides being serious and prepared professionals, motivated us and transmitted the love and passion for this mountain, making us feel part of a family.. even though it remains a high-altitude excursion, Wency and Jackie, our guides, always made us feel safe, moreover, the presence of Jackie, a female guide, made me feel more at ease
I will definitely rely on them for the next adventure
Asante Sana Laura and Manuele

100% recommend Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventures!
My sister and I both had the most incredible experience hiking Mount Kilimanjaro with Kilimanjaro heroes! They were the most affordable company I could find and everything about the trip was perfect, from the trip logistics by Evarist and Laurent, to our amazing guides Mwinyi and Gloria, to our incredible porters (James, Hendry, and Mondonga to name a few), and our chef Salum who made the best food for us each day!! Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and very experienced, so we knew we were in good hands to make it to the top safely! Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventures also organized a coffee tour and waterfall hike the day before our climb, as well as a two day safari after, both of which were awesome (our safari guide Elly was also great). Could not recommend this company more for anyone looking to hike Kilimanjaro!

A human experience in a breathtaking setting.
After contacting several local agencies, the exchanges with Evariste quickly convinced us: efficient, fast, adaptable, detailed and reassuring. And we did not regret our choice whether it was for the ascent of Kilimanjaro by the road machame in 7 days or our safari of 5 days. On the spot it was Mr Laurent who took over and here too, his availability and adaptability helped us a lot.
For the Kilimanjaro, at my request we had a guide who spoke French: Johnbosco. He was exceptional, it was a human encounter above all through his encouragement, his attentions, his Swahili lessons, his explanations, his good humor... He did everything to get us to the top, and especially me who had been busy breathing since day two. Our second guide Emmanuel also perfectly framed us of his experience and in music, he adapted the rhythm whenever needed, it was just perfect. Last but not least, the whole team made this experience incredible and achievable, Iddi, Izack, Asiadi, Moses, Charles, Hamis, Adam, Mahamoud, Nelson, Ramadhani, Rajab, Eddyson, Elia, Denis, Juma and Sebastian... Not only is their strength incredible to carry the camp, the food, our belongings but above all they always have the word, smile and attention that makes the experience extraordinary and human. It was a moment of sharing with nature and with a team that put everything in place so that at every moment we had a smile, comfort for rest, excellent meals to regain strength, all to succeed. It was their strength, attention and sensitivity that brought us to the top and vibrated us in this indescribable experience. We thank and recommend Kilimanjaro Heroes and especially this whole team.
For the safari again it was a faultless with Jamal, very professional, who knew how to take the time with his expert eye to make us discover this incredible and diverse wildlife in this exotic setting. The organization, accommodation, exchanges, animals, everything was there once again. 1000 more thanks.

7 days route Machamé
We had an unforgettable and beautiful human experience. The amazing team that accompanied us was very caring for us. Our guides, Israel and David, very competent accompanied us perfectly. Our cook made us exceptional dishes (3 pizzas during the treck:-)) and our porters were kind and dedicated that touched us in the heart. A huge thank you for that eternal memory. We can only recommend Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventure, both by the kindness and support of our team and the quality of services. A thousand thanks for everything and for this eternal memory.

Queen for a Week
Stop searching and book with these guys!
With so many options to choose from, it’s easy to fall into analysis paralysis. But Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventures stood out—they were easy to communicate with and offered the best price. The service? Way beyond what I expected!
To my mountain kings,
Thank you so much for sharing your love of Kilimanjaro with me. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
Kadri, Kadri, Kadri – your delicious food kept me nourished throughout the entire week-long climb. I still can’t believe you made pizza on the side of a mountain, served a comforting bread soup that tasted like a holiday tradition from home, and somehow always had fresh fruit—even on the final days. I’ll be dreaming of your pepper and cucumber salad and that incredible cabbage!
Edward the Protector – waking up to your voice and ginger tea delivered to my tent was a highlight of each day. Your smile, spirit, and energy kept me going when things got tough.
Cado Pengo – thank you so much for the daily leg massages ;)
Gasto, my little angel – I can’t express how happy I was to see your smiling face and hear you say, “Good job” as you took my pack for the last part of the day. Climbing to the summit with you by my side is a memory I’ll cherish forever.
Julius and Hassan – my quiet heroes. Thank you for preparing my camp with such care and dedication each day. Your work made everything feel like home on the mountain.
And to David – your leadership is truly something to be admired. You've assembled a perfect team of strong, kind men who create an environment anyone would be lucky to climb with. I’m deeply thankful to have been placed in your care. Your nightly “Dr. David” check-ins made me feel safe and supported, and your encouragement along the way meant the world to me.
A huge thank you to Issaya for helping me in town with the pharmacy and bank, and for getting me safely to Arusha. Those roads and traffic were intense and you handled it like a true professional.
To the Keys Hotel staff – thank you for creating a warm, welcoming space with incredible food. Banana soup for breakfast? Yes, please. Yummy!
Asante sana,
Kali California

Thank you all very much: Emanuel Mchome, David, Robert, and Hamis
9 of us women and men from age 44 to 74 did amazing Kilimanjaro’s Machame route trek late July through Kilimanjaro Hero Adventures and all of us successfully made to the 5895m summit with supports by our guide Emanuel’s team. The team lead by Emanuel Mchome (also know as Ema) with David, Rabert and Hamis, plus the amazing cooking and porters team. We had excellent and skilled chief Chenga who made delicious food everyday. The whole team made us felt safe and comfortable. They encouraged, supported and surprised us in every way they could through out the whole time. I can not thank Ema and the team enough. Certainly will recommend Kilimanjaro Heroes Adventures to anyone who plan to visit Tanzania, and if you plan to hike Kilimanjaro definitely should choose the best guides: Emanuel Mchome, David, Robert, and Hamis.
