The tour was packed with wonders of nature with Glacier walk and Glacier Lagoon definitely being the highlights. Seen endless waterfalls and nature is still intact especially considering the wild nature and damage caused by eruptions over time. Negative points (1) traveling from East coast the West has lots of driving with no particular interesting spots (2) speakers in van had an issue that did not allow us fully appreciate drivers explanations and (3) last hotel was moved to Reykjavik adding 2 hours extra driving instead of sourcing a closer hotel
Hi Peter, thanks so much for taking the time to write this. Glad the glacier walk and glacier lagoon were the highlights they should be. We really appreciate the specific notes too, feedback like this genuinely helps us keep improving. Hope to see you again. Arctic Adventures Team
This tour was fabulous! We enjoyed 7 days of majestic sites: tectonic plates, waterfalls, geysers, glaciers, black sand beaches, lava fields, calderas, and young forests. We experienced a whale watch, a forest lagoon, an icelandic horse farm visit, a glacier hike and saw puffins at their nesting site. Our tour guide, Karl, kept us entertained with Island history, folk tales, geology, and cultural traditions. He showed incredible knowledge about the places we visited, points of interest, accommodations and local restaurants. It didn't take long for our group of 18 to become a community as we shared our stories and photos. I would highly recommend this tour!
Hi there, thanks so much for the thoughtful review. Multi-day trips really do live or die on the group and the guide, and it sounds like both worked beautifully for you. A group of 18 turning into a community by the end of it is the best possible outcome. Hope you're back soon. Arctic Adventures Team
This was the best organized trip I have even been to! The group was amazing, people clicked very well and probably it was thanks to our tour guide Karl who made everyone feel very comfortable and important. He showed us amazing places, gave us so much fun and interesting information, helped us connect with each other and feel very comfortable during bus travel, and in hotels, and during walks and hikes. Iceland is breathtaking and incredible: there was a great balance of travels and sightseeing. There were choices for people with different physical abilities, possibilities for longer hikes and shorter sightseeing options. I can truly recommend Arctic Adventures, and if you will be lucky enough to get Karl as your tour guide, you will be in the best hands!
Hi there, thanks so much for this. Seven days around Iceland with a group that genuinely clicks is one of those trips that's hard to replicate, and it sounds like the balance of hiking options and sightseeing held up across the whole route. The fact that everyone felt included, whatever their fitness level, is exactly what we hope for on a week-long tour. Arctic Adventures Team
Incredible trip around the island! All stops had beautiful scenery!! Our guide Sigurdur H. was very knowledgeable and was very helpful whenever we had questions! The 7 day tour was incredible and we got some unique and new sites on the added seventh day. It was a perfectly small group of 11 people on our bus. We booked this for our honeymoon and it was a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation! Our favorite activity was the glacier hike :) We had great luck with weather and had a blast as we traveled the ring road. Siggi made sure that we had everything we needed the whole time and took great care of us! 10/10 experience. The only complaint we had was dinners were expensive, limited menu, and not included with the tour price but other than that we had an excellent time!
Hi Julias, thank you for the kind review. Lovely to hear the multi-day trip was the right honeymoon, and that the days had the right mix of adventure and rest. Wishing you both all the best! Arctic Adventures Team
Trip of a lifetime. Our guide Karl set a tone of friendliness and joviality that made our diverse group really gel. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the geography and geology we saw. When there were options, he always picked great choices for spending our time. I feel like I really got to see Iceland and enjoy beautiful hikes and adventures into a beautiful country.
Hi Mary, thank you for the kind review. Lovely to hear the multi-day trip worked out so well, and that the guide made the right calls when there were choices to make. Arctic Adventures Team
Iceland is stunning, and a good guide makes a huge difference, our guide Björn was excellent. He was friendly, funny, and shared lots of interesting local stories and insights throughout the trip. His positive energy and charming personality made the journey even more enjoyable and added to the beauty of Iceland.
Hi there, thanks for sharing your feedback. Seven days across Iceland is a big trip, and a guide who brings local stories, good energy, and a bit of humor to the journey makes all the difference. Really glad it came together the way it did. Arctic Adventures Team
This is a 6-day tour plus a day tour on the 7th day. Our guide and driver Ronan during the 6-day tour is very knowledgeable and told many interesting stories about the sightseeing points we stop by. The only downside is the limited time per stop in the Golden Circle on the first day. Perhaps it would be a better experience if it was spanned across two days instead. But overall, I had a great time and want to thank Ronan for taking care of us! The accommodation is usually basic with no laundry facilities, so be prepared to do your own laundry if you're on a long Europe trip. Also, we usually have dinner at the hotel restaurant where choices are quite limited. Would be better if we have dinner at a bar/restaurant where feasible.
Hi Peter, thanks for the details here. Six days across the South Coast, Akureyri, and Snæfellsnes is a lot of Iceland to cover, and it sounds like the guide made the journey. The pacing note on the Golden Circle is useful feedback, and the dinner and laundry tips are genuinely helpful for future guests on longer itineraries. Really glad the trip came together well overall. Arctic Adventures Team
The 7-day tour is composed of a 6-day ring tour and a 1-day tour to the Snaefellsness from Reykjavik. We had the amazing Hilmar as our guide for 6 days, who in my opinion, is the best guide you could ever have! Hilmar is friendly, helpful, and fill you in with the history and fun mythology of Iceland to the right extend - appropriately without bombarding you. Hilmar also went the extra mile and drove us to Borgarfjarðarhöfn for us to see the puffins and the Hengifoss (additional spots), which we all absolutely love and enjoy! This tour is fantastic for those who love the nature and hiking. Our group (of 3 ppl) is the only ones joining the 7th day separate day tour. We got another guide who is too enthusiastic and talks non-stop, quite the opposite of Hilmar. The group is hugh and have to squeeze in a small van; it was also very rushed with a lot of stops. This day is very exhausting and frankly not enjoyable. We would recommend blending certain spots from the 7th day into the 6th day (which actually ends early at Reykjavik at around 4pm). Conclusion is that we would definitely recommend the six day ring tour (a life changing experience!), but perhaps not the 1-day tour to Snaefullsnes.
Hi Beatrice, thank you for your review. A ring tour that ends with a puffin detour and a waterfall bonus is Iceland done right. We've taken note of the Snæfellsnes day feedback and will pass it along. Glad the six days made such an impression. Arctic Adventures Team
It has been a great experience, with beautiful landscapes
Hi there, thanks for the kind words. Seven days across that much of Iceland is a proper trip, and we're glad the landscapes lived up to it. Arctic Adventures Team
Loved the scenery and the experience, all helped by having such a knowledgeable guide/driver (Seggie). Not sure of the spelling of his name. We were a small group of 8, and all bonded well on the trip. I think that group size was typical for the time of year that we booked. The hot spring bath was a highlight, but not the only one. On reflection, the 6-day trip would have been adequate. The 7th day was a repeat of some of the earlier experiences. Having more time to explore Reykjavik would have been beneficial.
Dear Dorothy, Thank you very much for your lovely review! Happy to hear that the journey from Australia was worth it and that you enjoyed the stunning scenery and overall experience. It is great that traveling in a small group created such a nice atmosphere, and that your guide Seggie made a strong impression with his knowledge and driving. We are grateful for your kind words and for sharing your journey with us and hope to welcome you back for another great adventure in Iceland in the future. -Arctic Adventures Team
