My daughter and I have recently returned from two weeks in Ghana arranged by your company and we would like you to know how much we enjoyed the trip. My main interest was birding and we saw a total of 254 different species of which 118 were new to me. We also appreciated the opportunity to learn more of the culture of Ghana in general and the Ashanti in particular. And the butterflies, moths, other insects and various lizards/geckos were fantastic. Our bird guide, Johnson, was dedicated and caring; our driver Daniel was always kind and cheerful despite some challenging road conditions. At the lodges we met more kind and caring people. My daughter greatly appreciated walks, jogs and cycle rides with Edmund at Lou Moon and Enoch at Picathartes. We particularly appreciated the accommodation at the Picathartes Guesthouse and Ankasa Reserve Lodge; and Lou Moon was paradise! Please pass on our appreciation and gratitude to all concerned. I have nothing but praise for Ashanti Tours in general and for our tour guide, Lawrencia, and driver, William, in particular. I had always been interested in visiting West Africa but particularly Ghana. A relative of mine had lived and worked there and I had read about and admired its late President Jerry Rawlings. Also, I grew up in Jamaica so was interested in the cultural and historical links between the two countries. I was very happy with the itinerary and with the hotels. All were good and La Villa Boutique in Accra was special. I could spend a whole week there happily. Every lunch spot was also very good. We particularly enjoyed the Golf Club at Tema. William was the best driver we could have had. Calm and careful, I always felt safe with him. But really, the trip was made by Lawrencia. She is truly the best tour guide anyone could have anywhere. She was organised, warm and friendly, knowlegeable (incredibly knowledgeable) and thoughtful. Nothing phased her. She took everything in her stride and helped us every way possible. She was flexible and able to adjust the itinerary if necessary or if we wanted. I simply can’t praise her more highly. Lawrencia and William worked very hard while we were enjoying ourselves. It must have been trying for them but they never seemed tired or anything other than ready to help us. They are wonderful people. I will never forget my trip to Ghana. Thankyou Ashanti.

I don't even know where to starts. They were great! I've tried other touring companies and this one just stands out! The tour guide was very knowledgeable of Ghana's history and customs. My family and I loved how diverse the stops were. We had three stops that were all very different from each other and very insightful. I honestly loved it so much, I'm planning to book many more touring opportunities with them. If you're into adventures and want great customer service, I would recommend them.

This was the best trip we've had as a family. Ashanti designed a custom itinerary for us which kept our 8 year old son entertained, gave us a tour of the country and it's food, heritage and people and gave us a robust education from past to present. Our driver and guide were the best we've ever had - many other tourists and staff at the heritage sites knew them by name and were always happy to see them and sing their praises. My wife and I just returned from an amazing 7-day birding extravaganza in Ghana, meticulously organized by Ashanti African Tours. For starters, our birding guide, Foster Frimpong, was one of the best we have ever had the pleasure of traveling with and I say this as someone who has hired guides in West Africa, South American, and Southeast Asia. Frimpong is extremely knowledgeable about the local birds, including their songs, calls, habits, and where to find them. He paid close attention to the target list I had provided so the trip was quite "productive" from that perspective. Beyond the experience in the field, Frimpong was extremely attentive to every logistical detail, leaving nothing to chance, which meant that everything went exceptionally smoothly. Most importantly, Foster is a patient and kind human being. It was a great pleasure to spend time in the field with him. Foster is part of an organization that is both highly professional and ethical. The office staff were quite attentive and helpful as we prepared for the trip. I must say I was particularly impressed with the work Ashanti has done in Bonkro Village to build a local school and a guest house for travelers. Bonkro is one of the easiest places in West Africa to find the elusive White-necked Rockfowl. I also appreciate Ashanti's work with the local community to protect the surrounding forest from the threat of logging.

Ashanti organised an amazing itinerary of the best Birding sites in Ghana. We had a superb 15 day trip. Foster Frimpong was our guide - he was truly outstanding. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of all the bird calls and an uncanny knack of finding all the target species we were searching for. He has great experience of all the sites we visited and also the accommodation we stayed in too. Rosematilda was our point of contact in the Ashanti office. Her organisational skills and prompt email replies were incredibly efficient and she dealt with all our enquiries and questions with great humour too. Ashanti had been highly recommended and they surpassed our highest expectations.
