I spent six unforgettable days with the wonderful team led by Francis. They were cheerful and full of energy, yet always watchful, keeping our safety as the top priority every single day. On summit day, I felt terribly unwell as my blood oxygen level dropped, but thanks to their warm support, I was able to reach Uhuru Peak. The view from the Roof of Africa was, of course, breathtaking — but what stays with me most after this climb isn’t the scenery. It’s the warmth of the crew and the irreplaceable time we shared as a team. Francis, thank you for supporting us alongside so many wonderful crew members. Godson, Jafari, I will never forget your kindness. Balaka, thank you for the joyful mealtimes — every day was amazing. Tyson, thank you for always staying close and supporting us on summit day. Emanuel, your delicious meals kept us energized throughout the trip. And to all the other incredible crew members, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Our group had an amazing experience hiking the 6-day Marangu Route with Altezza. We all successfully summited Kilimanjaro, and we couldn’t have done it without our incredible guides and porters. We were also able to easily add on a safari in Arusha national park to our itinerary before we left for the hike. Francis, Godson, and Jafari were there for us every step of the trek, always bringing positive energy and an incredible level of attentiveness and care. Godson was by my side the entire night up to the peak! When I needed help descending more quickly, Francis linked arms with me and helped me every step of the way. Their support made such a difference throughout the experience. Our days on the trail were so much fun and everyone got along incredibly well. We played cards together at night and spent much of our days hiking and chatting with our guides. The food was diverse - everything was prepared by Emanuel and served by Baraka, who taught us Swahili words and songs at every meal. They also gave us heated pouches each night to keep in our sleeping bags, which was a huge plus during the chilly nights! We are so thankful for everything we experienced, saw, and learned along the way, and especially grateful to the entire team who helped us reach the summit. This was truly a life-changing experience and I highly recommend booking with Altezza.

I truly cannot say enough good things about my experience climbing Kilimanjaro on the 6 day Marangu Route with Altezza Travel. It was one of the most challenging, rewarding, and genuinely life-changing experiences of my life and so much of that is because of the incredible team who was with us every step of the way. Our lead guide, Francis “mountain goat” was absolutely incredible. He made sure we were prepared for every single day and cared so much about each of us. I always felt completely safe and confident knowing he was leading us. His knowledge and experience were so apparent, and he constantly taught us, checked in on us, and made sure we knew what to expect. We could not have asked for a better person to lead our team. Jafari was an incredible guide. He was knowledgeable, thoughtful, hilarious, and such a positive person to be around. He was wonderful to talk to and learn from, whether we were asking about the mountain, Tanzania, or life. He brought so much fun to every day while always being attentive to how we were doing and his knowledge and confidence made me feel completely safe with him on the mountain. Godson was an incredible guide. He was knowledgeable, kind, patient, and incredibly attentive. He was always making sure we were comfortable, answering our questions, teaching us along the way and encouraging us when things got difficult. He was wonderful to talk to and learn from and had such a calm, reassuring presence. His knowledge and attentiveness always made me feel like we were in incredibly capable hands. Francis, Jafari, and Godson all had huge smiles on their faces every day and made even the hardest parts of the trek enjoyable. They taught me so much, made us laugh, kept us safe, and genuinely cared about each of us. Their knowledge, professionalism, and love for what they do were obvious throughout the entire trek, and I feel incredibly lucky that they were our guides. I especially want to recognize Lucas, who was there for me throughout summit night. He carried my backpack, stayed close by, helped me whenever I needed anything, and supported me through some of the hardest hours of the entire climb. When you’re exhausted, freezing, and just trying to put one foot in front of the other, having someone like Lucas there means more than I can explain. His kindness, patience, and support made such a huge difference in getting me to the summit, and I will truly never forget what he did for me. Tyson was also with us on summit night and brought so much positivity and encouragement. Even during the hardest hours, he was smiling, encouraging us, and helping keep our spirits up. And then there was Baraka, who made every single meal memorable. He shared songs with us, taught us Swahili words, made us laugh, and turned mealtimes into something we genuinely looked forward to every day. “Finish your plate, feeling great! Feeling great, finish your plate!” is permanently stuck in my head. His energy was contagious, and some of my favorite memories from the trek are simply sitting around the table laughing and learning from him. A huge thank you as well to Emanuel, our chef, who somehow kept us so well fed on Kilimanjaro, and to Emmanuel, who carried my personal duffel safely from hut to hut. Finally, thank you to every single porter and member of our crew. They worked unbelievably hard carrying our equipment and supplies, bringing us water, taking care of us and doing countless things behind the scenes to make our climb possible. I have so much respect and gratitude for every one of them. I went to Tanzania dreaming of climbing Kilimanjaro, but I never expected the people to become just as meaningful to me as reaching the summit itself. I learned so much from this team about the mountain, Tanzania and myself. They made us feel safe, supported, capable and happy even during the hardest moments. Francis, Jafari, Godson, Lucas, Tyson, Baraka, both Emmanuels, and our entire crew - asante sana. I will truly never forget you or this experience. It was life-changing and I feel incredibly lucky that you were the people I got to experience it with. One team, one dream. 💛

I hiked Kilimanjaro via the 6 day Marangu route and the entire Altezza team was amazing. Adam, Mosha, Honest, Zach, and many others were encouraging and motivating to get to the summit. Zach in particular helped carry my pack when I was tired and even hand-fed me snacks when it was too cold to take my mittens off. I also did the Tarangire and Arusha National park safaris. Joseph was an excellent guide for both days and knew so much about the areas and animals. I would absolutely recommend Altezza and would use their company again if I return.

The guides made the experience, yes going up Kilimanjaro was fantastic but actually the kindness, support and professionalism of the guides made this one of the best experiences of my life. I loved it.

Our experience was excellent, and we truly enjoyed every day of our journey. The entire Altezza team was outstanding, everyone was polite, kind, and made us feel very welcome. The food was great, and we felt well cared for throughout the trip. Polite, Ela, and Gibson were especially friendly, professional, and extremely experienced. Their support and encouragement played a big role in making our trek successful and enjoyable. One suggestion I would offer is to consider performing a full set of vital signs during the daily health checks. In addition to oxygen saturation and pulse, checking blood pressure and temperature could provide a more complete assessment of each climber’s health and help identify potential issues earlier. Overall, you have an exceptional team, and we are very grateful for the wonderful experience. Thank you for helping make this journey so memorable.

I did the Kilimanjaro expedition from 3-8 May via Marangu route - overall, it was a great experience and with memories that will last a lifetime. The organisation of the trip was seamless and Altezza’s customer support (Nadia) was extremely responsive and helpful. What blew me away was the dedication of our guides and porters to providing the best experience possible. Led by the assured leadership of Elia, Kassim and Amos, I always felt reassured and safe and trusted their judgement. Each of them played a key role in my journey - Elia for his organisation, encouragement and care, Kassim for making sure I got to the bottom of Kibo when I was struggling with the altitude and fatigue, and Amos for sharing his energy and knowledge of Kilimanjaro. Special mentions to Omari who led our acclimatisation trek confidently, Emmanuel who was always right on time with waking us up and kindly serving our meals, Petar for the wonderful meals cooked under such challenging conditions and Vincent for tirelessly helping us up the summit. It was great experience for me with beautiful views and nature around. Very well organised and prepared with the beautiful view of the nature. I have been there inlow season and weather was still great less people comfort. We had great support from guides pots, cookers washers all the members were helpful. I highly recommend Altezza to everyone

Absolutely brilliant experience climbing Kilimanjaro with Altezza. The staff and communication were absolutely brilliant from the expedition team all the way to the catering, hotel staff and admin staff. My experience with Altezza was wonderful! They are truly the best tour operator. From the moment you decide to go with Altezaa till you get back home, everything was exceptional! I did my 1-day safari to Tarangire Park and learned so much about animals! I did not expect it to be sooo good. My first safari ever. My Kilimanjaro hike was challenging but enjoyable and unforgettable. Fantastic views from the top! I met so many great people in my group.
