Since we can't identify your booking, we can only assume: this Public Tour to Hallstatt likely did not reach the minimum number of participants required to operate, which is why it had to be cancelled — this is stated in the tour terms and applies to all public group tours, not something specific to your booking. Regarding the refund: when a booking is cancelled, Viator normally processes the refund automatically. We are not the ones handling the payment here. If we received the cancellation notice, we approved the refund request on our end without delay. However, the actual processing and payout of refunds for Viator bookings is handled directly by Viator, not by us as the tour operator. We'd recommend following up with Viator customer support directly with your booking reference, as they can check the exact status of the payout. We're sorry this added extra stress on top of an already disappointing cancellation, and we're happy to help confirm anything on our end for the platform. That said, we don't think a one-star rating for the tour itself is fair here. We cancelled because the minimum number of participants — clearly stated in the terms for this public tour — wasn't reached, not by choice, but because running a full-day tour at the public group rate isn't something we can't offer for for less than 5 participants. Thank you very much for your review, we’re happy to hear you had a good time in Hallstatt. The price of the tour is 17,5€ per guest per hour and includes the tour, the waiting time for your vehicle & guide for the full day. The distance between Hallstatt and Salzburg is to far to send the car back to Salzburg. The time is short to do another tour in between- that means the car is blocked for the full day, that’s why the tour has the same price than our other full day tours. The request for a five hour stay in Hallstatt is high, the other offers are might lower but the stay is also shorter. It‘s your choice to take a cheaper alternative. Thank you, all the best.

We would like to address your comments regarding the salt mine visit. Please note that this is an optional activity which guests may choose to add individually—it is not a mandatory part of our tour. We clearly indicate in our tour description, as well as through our driver guides, that a good level of physical fitness is required for those planning to visit the salt mines, due to uphill walking, stairs, and confined spaces. Unfortunately, based on the username provided in your review, we have been unable to identify your booking or determine exactly which group you were part of. We did not have a closed booking of four guests on any recent tour via Viator or Tripadvisor. It’s possible that your group was part of a larger shared vehicle of up to 8 people, or that your visit to the salt mine coincided with a much larger group of over 40 individuals who were not part of our tour.
