We highly recommend booking private tours with locals, and we especially recommend this specific tour when visiting Halifax. The locations we visited, along with the information and insights provided by our guide, were excellent. We booked a 4-to-5-hour private tour of Halifax through the Marriott Bonvoy Tours and Activities website. We were picked up right at the cruise terminal in a comfortable SUV. Our guide, Reza, was the most welcoming and energetic guide we could have ever asked for! Because it was a private excursion, we were able to modify how long we stayed at each site. Reza made sure we saw everything possible in our allotted time. We visited Peggy's Cove, Fairview Lawn Cemetery (the Titanic graves), the Swissair Flight 111 memorial, and the Halifax Explosion memorial. He also gave us a fantastic tour of Citadel Hill, and admission was already included in our price. Afterward, he dropped us off at the Boardwalk to stroll before we headed back to our cruise ship. The tour was incredibly memorable, and so was Reza. Highly recommend both!

This was easily one of the highlights of our visit to Nova Scotia! From start to finish, everything was seamless, well-organized, and completely stress-free. Peggy's Cove was absolutely breathtaking—the iconic lighthouse, rugged coastline, and stunning ocean views were even more beautiful than we imagined. We also appreciated the meaningful stops at the Swissair Flight 111 Memorial and Fairview Lawn Cemetery, which added so much historical depth to the experience. Visiting Citadel Hill was another highlight, offering amazing views and a great glimpse into Halifax's past. Because it was a private tour, we never felt rushed and had plenty of time to enjoy each location, take photos, and ask questions. The comfortable transportation and personalized experience made the day even better. If you're visiting Halifax for the first time, I can't recommend this tour enough.
