I am giving this two stars instead of one because I never felt unsafe and the driver was kind at a bare minimum, albeit unqualified. Unfortunately those were the only upsides. The “guide” said he had only been living in Dubai for one year and had no idea how to get to any of the attractions, nor did he have any knowledge of Dubai’s history, nor culture. When he first picked me up he said “what do you want to do?” Mind you I had picked a private tour that had 12 dedicated destinations already planned. Another red flag was that I had to contact the tour company three times to even confirm they were picking me up at my hotel after I had paid $300 for a private tour. It was really disappointing. I’ve been on many private tours in many countries, and never had a guide so clueless. In addition, he did not take me inside any destination. He just drove me past the attractions as if he was an Uber driver. I decided to cut the tour hours short, tipped the guide (it’s not his fault he was hired I supposed) and was on my merry way.
