Mongolia is a great country with many amazing sites. I could write a short book on this 5 day tour but i will keep it brief. The first 2 days were great and the guide was very helpful and friendly. We stayed in his in laws Ger which they didn't seem to happy about but the experience was good. We had to pull his father in law out of the mud after he took some sheep shearers home the previous night. it was sheep shearing time. The third day we when to an unscheduled festival form 10 AM until after 3 PM. Apparently these are a high point of the year in Mongolia. A few hours of Mongolian wrestling and long distance horse racing would have sufficed, but he wanted to stay the entire day. He seemed very unset that i wanted to go onto the schedule waterfall and hot spring. We saw the waterfall which was good. We tend drove to a camping spot in the mountains. i asked why we were they and he said "camping". that is all he said. I asked have you ever camped there before? he said "No, you can camp anywhere". i was actually fearing for my safety. He cooked dinner next to 3, 2 inch, pieces of horse dung. See photo. The next day, we drove to the hot springs. He had mentioned the day before that none of his clients had done into the water, which i thought was strange. when we arrive i saw the there were 2, 8x 10 feet pools with a mile long PVC pipe coming a mile down the mountain where the water was presumably coming from. I told him i do not need to go into the water and preferred to go to the lake which was next on the schedule. We pulling into a parking lot and he didn't say anything. I asked why we were there and he replied "horse riding". "Where are the horses" i asked. He said, " we have to wait 2 hours for the horse to come back." I told him i prefer to go the lake, at which time he became hostile, insulting and irate. After he settled down somewhat, he did not say much the rest of the tour. the final day we drove around a national park looking for the small wild horsed that had been extinct in Mongolia but were brought in from eastern Europe years ago from when Mongolia almost conquered Europe around 1300. We left for the airport and made it 40 minutes before my international flight. Overall Mongolia is great and the sites were good, but the guide was a major downside of the experience. I would recommend Mongolia but not this guide or this company.
You wanted to visit Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall (not included in the tour itinerary) as an extra stop, so we visited to the waterfall. I asked by email before starting the tour whether it would be interesting a festival on the way, and he agreed. It takes 2 hours, not a whole day. You also agreed to spend 2 nights in a tent (tourist camps were full due to a national holiday), but we only stayed one night in the tent. Airport transfer was also not included in the tour itinerary, but you requested to be driven, so I dropped him off at the airport. You also wanted to see the Chinggis Khaan Museum in Ulaanbaatar as an additional stop. We didn't go to the museum. You said, "I am your client, you ass hole. I did not insult you.
