Had an absolutely fabulous day with Fabio, this tour has been the highlight of our holiday with the experiences tailored to us. Fabio was so welcoming, friendly and informative we were made to feel like friends from the start. I cannot do physically challenging activities due to health but Fabio took us to do shorter walks so that we could experience the landscape at my ability level. We had a picnic in Fanal forest and tried the best poncha in a little out of the way place as well as getting up close to banana growing. The land rover discovery is a really comfortable off road vehicle and we felt that we were in capable hands the whole time. I would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone interested in getting under the skin of

We had the absolute best experience today on the West Madeira tour with Fernando as our guide! He was so fun, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the island. His English was excellent, which made everything easy and engaging. Fernando was born and raised in Madeira, and you can really feel his passion and pride in every stop along the way. He also recommended a lunch spot that turned out to be the best meal we’ve had in Portugal so far—such a highlight! Traveling as a group of five women, we were laughing, singing, and completely in awe of the island’s beauty all day long. Fernando made the experience unforgettable with his great energy and warm personality. Truly a fantastic guide and an all-around wonderful character. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic tour with Hit the Road Madeira! I can’t praise our guide, Fabio, enough. He was born and raised on Madeira and his in depth local knowledge and insights made the tour come alive. He was very warm and friendly. We felt like we were his guests more so than his clients. The sights that we visited were great, with ample free time to explore. We visited the Fanal Forest, Seixal, the natural pools at Porto Moniz, several observation points, had a great meal at a local restaurant that served an awesome Espetada (local skewers of beef filet), and two great bars. We revisited Fabio’s favorite beach bar and sunset spot twice. With his local knowledge, Fabio was able to direct our tour on a course that hit otherwise busy routes and sights at times when we avoided the big tour buses. Fabio is from Madeira. He not only knew how to time the tour to avoid crowds at popular sights, but also was adept at telling us Madeiran history, politics, economics, and what has happened to tourists who lacked safety sense.

This is a “must-do” experience. We did the tour, as a group of six, during the third week of March. As you might expect, we encountered a mix of sunshine, mist and rain. The varying weather added drama and suspense as Hugo delivered us to beautiful vistas. Hugo, our guide, was simply amazing. He was able to gage the weather in order to deliver us to dramatic views, his lunch restaurant choice and food recommendations were outstanding and his knowledge of Madeira is exceptional. Madeira is an amazing place and Hugo is an expertly matched guide. Thank you Hugo for a great day out!

Thank you Fabio for an excellent tour. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. It was both informative and fun. It was impressive how you adapted the day to suit the crazy weather patterns and produced shortcuts and alternates to cater for potential holdups.

Just did the tour with Fabio on 3/14 with 2 couples and had a blast. Fabio was so informative, knowledgeable and fun. He knew some secret spots and timed things so it wasn't chaotic with all the other tours going on so that was awesome. I recommend the tour and shout out to Fabio giving me a fun memorable experience! :)

We did the full day West tour and also a sunrise tour. This is the way to go! For the west tour - we had Fabio. So energetic, fun! He looked at the weather and adjusted a bit, and was perfect! The only area we really had rain or clouds was Fanal forest, which you want that! Waves were stinging Porto Moniz and was chilly so no swimming, but so beautiful! The best part is that it was just fun and relaxed and not a stressful! Like a prefect road trip with friends. Great sites, never rushed. Not an exact checklist to complete, yet saw so many highlights regardless! For the sunrise tour, the weather was bad! Snowing in the peaks, wind and clouds and rain. We got a message the night before offering to reschedule or refund or go for a plan B. We were up for anything since it was our last day and trails were all closed anyway. So- off we went! We had Jeff and just my husband and I and was a great morning! Making the most of it all and some great viewpoints, coffee and pastries, hidden little water spot. A great time! If you have a choice, pick these guys! The best. They will adjust with the conditions rather than just short you activities and time

I had de best first day on the island, Tiago was the best guide ever, advices, laughs and historical anecdotes all day long ! We were just two on this tour and i felt like i made friends. Spots are great, I did not feel like a tourist, he took the time with us, the day was full. I recommend 100% !
