Very professional services from guide Bryan, very responsible but having a lot of knowledge about history. We did individual Salkantay trek with him. Super great mood, very supportive, it was easy with him. We were even surprised with some individual decisions, like bringing us to fabulous local hot waters. That was a great experience, very recommended.

Salkanray with Bryan 10/10
Bryan was an amazing guide!
We did the Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu with Bryan, and he made the whole experience. He was always looking out for us, checking how we were doing, adjusting the pace when we needed it, and keeping our spirits up on the toughest part of the pass. He knows the area really well and shared a lot about the history, nature, and local culture along the way. He was friendly, patient, and genuinely cared that we were safe and having a good time.
We'd recommend Bryan to anyone, and if we come back to Peru, we'd want him as our guide again. Thank you, Bryan!

Salkantay Trek - full madness, best experience
We had a blast doing this tour even when we had some problems with the altitude. Brayan, our guide, was as taking care of us and pushed us through the Salkantay pass!
Got duffel bags etc which was also handy.

Salkantay trek
We had a great experience.
The guides helped me through altitude sickness with expertise and motivated me to keep going. I felt so much better when we started descending and the last day in Machu Picchu was just magical. THANK YOU BRAYAN.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS AGENCY
We do NOT recommend it. We booked the Salkantay trek with all the excitement in the world, we had bad luck and were caught in a terrible storm that left very dangerous conditions for doing the route with snow, frost, rain, landslides on the road, and even the death of two porters in the area (we found out later in the news). Even so, we tried to go up, but our guide and the locals warned us of the danger and we turned back. The agency washes its hands of these situations and makes you pay all the extra expenses for reorganizing the tour. They had not thought of alternatives even though there had been a forecast of bad weather for several days before. That is to say, if there is bad weather, you lose the money and that's it (and you have to pay extra). FREDDY, the owner of the agency, reproached us, saying that we could have perfectly continued with the route. It is clear that this person does not care about the safety of his clients and his workers.
On the other hand, there are several aspects that we did not like at all: The porter's horses spent hours out in the open, shivering in the rain; the campsite on the first night (the only one we were able to enjoy) left a lot to be desired for having paid €600 per person (no hot water, no campfires, dirty sheets, freezing dining area, no Wi-Fi or cell service); and at the hotel they booked for us in Ollantaytambo (after canceling the route), 2 of us could not shower because no hot water came out.
As positive aspects, I must emphasize that our guide, as well as our driver and cook, were GREAT. Edwin's food was very good and in large quantities; Juan Carlos is a very good guide and did everything possible to keep us entertained after the reorganization; and Irwin is super friendly and made our transfers very pleasant. After the reorganization (and a lot of arguing), the agency paid for our pickup from the first campsite, the hotel night in Ollantaytambo, and a dinner, but NOT the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguascalientes and the rest of the meals that we should have had included.
In the end, we did not enjoy almost anything we paid for, and on top of that, we had to pay more. We recommend choosing another agency, but be careful because washing their hands of responsibility when there is bad weather is a frequent practice among all of them.

Lamentamos sinceramente que una experiencia que habían preparado con tanta ilusión terminara condicionada por unas circunstancias meteorológicas tan adversas.
En primer lugar, queremos dejar claro que la seguridad de nuestros pasajeros y de nuestro equipo siempre es prioritaria. Durante esos días, las condiciones en la zona de Salkantay fueron excepcionalmente complicadas, con lluvias, nieve y afectaciones en distintos tramos de la ruta. Lamentamos profundamente las noticias sobre las personas que perdieron la vida en la región y enviamos nuestras condolencias a sus familias.
Cuando nuestro guía y las personas de la zona consideraron que las condiciones no eran adecuadas para continuar con normalidad, se tomó la decisión de regresar. En ningún momento nuestra intención fue que ustedes continuaran una ruta que no considerasen segura.
También queremos aclarar un punto importante respecto a los gastos derivados de la reorganización. Tal como se establece en nuestras condiciones de reserva, los cambios provocados por fenómenos meteorológicos y otras situaciones de fuerza mayor pueden generar servicios adicionales que no están incluidos en el programa original.
Aun así, ante la situación que se presentó, nuestra empresa asumió el transporte de regreso desde el campamento, una noche de hotel en Ollantaytambo y una cena y mas gastos no oficiales, con el objetivo de ayudar a reorganizar su viaje y reducir en la medida de lo posible el impacto de la cancelación. El billete de tren adicional y determinados servicios posteriores derivados del cambio de itinerario no pudieron ser asumidos por la agencia.
Por este motivo, nos apena especialmente leer que “nos lavamos las manos”, ya que, aun tratándose de una situación meteorológica completamente ajena a nuestro control y contemplada dentro de las condiciones del servicio, nuestro equipo buscó alternativas y asumió varios gastos adicionales para poder asistirlos.
Respecto a la conversación mantenida con Freddy, lamentamos si alguna explicación sobre otros grupos que se encontraban realizando la ruta fue interpretada como una presión para continuar. La intención fue únicamente explicar el contexto que se estaba viviendo en la zona, nunca minimizar los riesgos ni anteponer el itinerario a la seguridad.
También tomamos nota de sus observaciones sobre el campamento. El Salkantay Trek se desarrolla en zonas remotas de alta montaña, donde servicios como la conexión a internet, la cobertura telefónica o determinadas comodidades pueden ser muy limitados, especialmente bajo condiciones climáticas adversas. Sin embargo, aspectos como la limpieza sí deben mantenerse adecuadamente y revisaremos ese punto con el proveedor correspondiente.
Del mismo modo, tomamos seriamente su comentario respecto a los caballos y trasladaremos la observación al equipo responsable de los animales.
Agradecemos también que hayan reconocido el trabajo de Edwin, Juan Carlos e Irwin. Nos alegra saber que, incluso en unas circunstancias tan difíciles, su atención, profesionalidad y esfuerzo contribuyeron positivamente a su experiencia.
Entendemos perfectamente la frustración de no haber podido realizar el Salkantay Trek como estaba previsto. Sin embargo, el clima en alta montaña es un factor que ninguna agencia puede controlar, y precisamente por ello existen políticas específicas para situaciones de fuerza mayor.
Agradecemos su opinión, incluso siendo crítica, porque también nos permite revisar cómo comunicamos estas condiciones antes de cada trekking. A partir de experiencias como esta, reforzaremos aún más la explicación previa sobre posibles cambios por condiciones meteorológicas y sobre qué servicios pueden o no estar cubiertos cuando es necesario modificar un itinerario por causas externas.

Fantastic hike and adventure
Absolutely fantastic tour, amazing views and everything was handled from beginning to end. Juan Carlos was a fantastic guide and met us before the hike to give us all pertinent info. Drivers were professional and the stays were exciting and new. Amazing for the price and great times with our guide

Trekking Salkentay 3 days, and others..
We did the Salkentay trek in 3 days. More than trekking is a crossing! Everything went perfectly, especially the punctuality and coordination in the transfers, as well as communication with the coordinator.
We also made Huacachina Desert and Mountain of Colors.
There are things to improve, we would have liked them to be longer somewhere, but we understand that they are armed in a way by long distances, and by meeting schedules.
We will come back for another experience!

Spectacular views!
We had an amazing experience during our trek! Every aspect of the trip was planned meticulously by the company. A special shoul out to our guide (Juan Carlos) who was very patient and knowledgeable about the conditions on the trek. The accomodations and chef prepared meals were very enjoyble. We did a 4D3N trek and in hindsight should have chosen a longer trek given different levels of conditioning in members of our group. Loved out trip and highly recommend Machu Picchu Viajes Peru for any Andean adventure!
