It was amazing. The traditions of funeral ceremonies, different houses, friendly people, a great local guide who speaks English well and told us all about The meanings of symbols, their belief, traditions, a driver who dores his best to communicate in English and was able to drive in these mountain roads. The Hotel we stayed has a incredible garden but The management needs to renovate rooms n spa.

Tongkonan Mebali has such a dramatic and tragic history, one of which is that in 1918 a deadly disease called "Ra'ba Biang" spread in Tana Toraja causing dozens of deaths daily, one of which in Tongkonan Mebali Marinding. The endless deaths made surviving residents keep or lay the bodies of their relatives or relatives in the cliffs or goa because there was no place to be buried, which is why there are still hundreds of skull bones at some point around this Mebali Tongkonan.
This was a dream come true. Excllent guide and not only attendance of a funeral, also a village wedding! The scenery is spectacular and Torana Valley is an intense cultural experience. Highly recommend it!
