had a great walking tour with Islam Shady. Now, my only warning is to wear comfortable shoes … this is NOT an “on and off” tour; you will be walking. And it will be fun.
You will be on both sides of the river (don’t worry, there is a ferry). Islam Shady is a very knowledgeable and personable individual who will show you unexpected sights … a Hindu temple just across the alley from a mosque, a Sunni mosque right across the square from a Shia mosque, and individuals from all cultures working and enjoying life together. His English is very good and he is easy to understand. He interacts with people on the tour and makes it easy to ask questions. He also wants to learn from you. There were Aussies and Americans in this group and he engaged to learn our personalities and perspectives.
While there were shopkeepers with whom we visited, there was very little pressure to buy anything. In the gold and spice souks, there were massive amounts and displays … but, we were NOT forced to enter any. The coffee museum was particularly interesting. But, as always in this part of the world, be prepared to sample coffee throughout the tour.
Islam Shady has a keen eye and a good sense of humor. He was a joy to explore with. I highly recommend.

Enjoyable and Interesting introduction to Dubai
Patricia was an excellent guide. She not only gave us a history of the area around the creek but gave us an insight into more recent development in Dubai and the UAE. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and also got some useful tips about items worth buying in the souks.

Dubai is HOT walking tour is NOT
DUBAI is HOT BUT
I had concerned a walking tour might not be a good idea.
BUT
MAAZ KHAN our guide rarely had us in the sun.
We visited a beautiful old restaurant
AL KHAYMA HERITAGE RESTAURANT
where we sat in a traditional room ( air conditioned) to taste delicious traditional sweets and tea. Then the walk through the town was mostly shaded. Again tasting coffee in a traditional house, with the explanations of how the family social life worked.
We then crossed the river waiting by the river in the shade with a lovely breeze. Then walked to the Souks a 200 metres away where the tour ended.
We were fortunate to have an excellent
guide MAAZ KHAN
who had extensive knowledge who could share it in a clear, precise manner
He was also considerate of the needs of our group..(older ladies who couldn’t sit on the floor so chairs were provided and we felt included)
I would highly recommend this tour and our guide

Incorrect business post, kindly remove it. We have no guide by the name Khan on our roster and neither do we make the stops mentioned in your review.

Fabulous Old Dubai tour!
Our guide Pri was fantastic! She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the UAE as well as everything current, and we enjoyed talking with her. The tour of Old Dubai was very interesting, and Pri provided us with lots of advice on shopping in the Souks. Highly recommend!

Best walking tour of old Dubai with tons of rich, fascinating history!
I’ve lived in Dubai two years and finally had a chance to do a proper walking tour when my sister visited from New York. Dubai By Foot with Richard is a fascinating, fun and fabulous experience! He helped connect so many historical dots and the UAE’s place in the world. We loved buying spices, textiles, and art in the narrow lanes of Old Dubai and drinking kahwe at every majlis. Thank you and cannot recommend this tour enough !

Brilliant tour, Ricky was great. So full of knowledge. It was a highlight of the holiday. The Arabian Tea house is lovely so go early and have tea and food, really nice place. Lovely to see the traditional houses and the souks. Loved the abra boat trip to the gold souk. Highly recommend this tour. My 10 year old loved it .

Great way to start your day in Dubai
We prefer taking walking tours in all cities that we visit and this one didn't disappoint us. We started the day by meeting our guide in Bastakiya. We were given detailed instructions on where to meet the guide. We are coffee lovers and the Coffee Museum was a highlight for us on this tour. We ended the tour 2 hours later at a different spot (not the one where the tour started) and spent some more time exploring and shopping from the souks after the tour.
