Thanks to him we had some of the best game viewing we’ve ever had in both Tsavo East and Tsavo West. Lions, elephants, buffalo, and so much more appeared almost every drive. Honestly, this 4-day safari from Baobab Resort in Diani was better than we hoped. Peter from Joppa Kenya Safari picked us up early and we headed straight into Tsavo. Two nights in Tsavo East, one in Tsavo West, a visit to Lumo Wildlife, and then back to the coast. Different scenery every day red dust and endless plains one moment, rocky hills and dense bush the next. What stood out most was Peter. He wasn’t just a driver-guide; he was the reason the trip felt special. He knew the parks inside out, timed the game drives perfectly, and had this calm way of building anticipation before a sighting. We had some fantastic elephant herds, a few lion encounters, and plenty of those quiet moments watching animals just being animals. The whole thing ran smoothly from start to finish. No long waits, no over-promising, just a really well-executed short safari. By the time we got back to Diani we were tired in the best possible way and already talking about coming back. If you’re looking for a proper wildlife experience without a long trek from the coast, this is it.

Wow. Just wow. Rachel at Joppa Kenya Safaris put together our 4-day trip from Diani straight into Tsavo East and West and back again. John was our guide and he was pure magic. Red-dust elephants in the East, lions that appeared out of nowhere, the wilder hills and thicker bush of the West, every day delivered. John knew exactly where to be and when. Never rushed, never boring, always interesting. We left the beach for four days and came back with stories we’ll still be telling next year. The places we stayed were comfortable and well-chosen, giving us a proper rest after each day’s adventure. What really made the trip special was our guide, George. After too many days of beach and cocktails in Diani, our two couples needed a change. Joppa Kenya Safaris sorted a 4-day safari and sent John to pick us up. From the first game drive it was clear John was in a different league. He doesn’t just point and name animals he reads the bush. He knew where the lions had been the day before, predicted where the elephants would cross, and somehow always put us in the right place at the right time. We saw a family of elephants with tiny calves, a leopard dragging a kill into a tree, and more giraffes than we could count. The days were long and dusty in the best way. Early starts, late finishes, and that thick red Tsavo dust in everything. Lodges were well chosen nothing fancy, just solid beds and good food after hours in the vehicle. John kept the atmosphere easy between the four of us. He joked when it fitted, stayed serious when the animals needed quiet, and never once made us feel like we were on a standard tour. By the time he dropped us back at the beach we were already planning the next one. If you get John as your guide, you’re sorted.

This was an incredible 4-day safari from Diani to Tsavo East, Tsavo West and Lumo Wildlife Sanctuary, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. We booked everything through Joppa Kenya Safaris. The whole process was really straightforward, we did most of it online and then sorted the details over WhatsApp and email. We had so many questions (timings, what to pack, road conditions, you name it) and Rachel answered every single one patiently and clearly. Nothing felt rushed or confusing. The arrangements were solid from the start. Our driver-guide Edward was the real star of the trip. He knew the parks inside out, spotted animals we would have completely missed, and made the whole experience fun and relaxed at the same time. The game drives in Tsavo East and West were fantastic lots of elephants, lions, and some great birdlife and Lumo Wildlife Sanctuary was a lovely quieter stop that felt really special. Everything ran smoothly, the communication was excellent, and we felt well looked after the entire time. Did a four-day safari with Joppa Kenia Safaris and I’m still smiling. We covered Tsavo East, Tsavo, and Amboseli, and the whole trip felt special from the moment we left Nairobi. Crossing into Tsavo we kept seeing more wildlife, and then Amboseli completely stole the show. Clear views of Kilimanjaro on a couple of mornings, elephants everywhere, and those wide marshy landscapes that look like they belong in a postcard. Sunrises and sunsets were pure gold. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, the lodges/camps were well chosen, and the whole itinerary flowed without any rush or wasted time. Food was good, staff were friendly, and everything was organised properly. If you’re looking for a genuine Kenya safari experience that doesn’t feel over-commercialised, Joppa Kenia Safaris and George deliver. Highly recommend — already thinking about coming back for more.

Our amazing 4-day safari with Joppa Kenia Safaris, traveling from Diani to Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary in Tsavo East. Our guide George was outstanding, knowledgeable, friendly, and really went the extra mile to make sure we had the best experience possible. We saw so much incredible wildlife up close: elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and plenty of antelope. George’s spotting skills were impressive, and he shared great stories about the area and the sanctuary’s community conservation efforts. The pacing was perfect, not rushed, with enough time to really enjoy the game drives and the beautiful landscapes. The whole trip felt well-organized, comfortable, and authentic.
