Kamakura is an interesting city, full of traditional character in the areas we explored. We saw the Kotokuin Temple, the Hase-sera temple, and Hokokuji temple. Each were amazing, and the Hokokuji was beautiful, with lovely grounds, a bamboo grove, and a tea house with matcha tea and a place to sit in contemplation of the beauty. We were guided by Koda, who helped us set up an itinerary taking our interests into account, shared information about every site, found us a lunch spot that satisfied all our different tastes, and got us on and off busses, trains, and through busy temple entrances easily and never lost one of us, though we were straggly! He also took special care of our group member with mobility issues. I highly recommend this excursion, and if you have the good luck to be guided by Koda you will have a memorable day.
