This was my husband's and I's first time visiting Shanghai and since we only had a few days, we wanted to make the most of seeing as much as we could. Our guide, Penny, was the perfect guide for us. She was on time and from the moment we met her, we knew that she was going to not only show us around but share her expert knowledge of the history of the city. Penny took her time explaining so many things to us and let us explore and ask her a ton of questions. We also got to explore at our own pace and never felt like we had to rush. By the end of the tour, we knew that Penny would be more than just a guide, but a new friend for us in the city. This tour is absolutely one you should not miss. One suggestion is to make sure that you book the option with the transportation included and don't make the same mistake I did in thinking that the "morning tour only" option was referring to the time of day instead of it referring to having just the guide without transportation included. Other than that, enjoy the tour and soak in all the beautiful sights and history that you'll be exposed to on it.

We had an amazing time with our tour guide Summer. We learned so much about Shanghai. We really learned a lot and enjoyed our time in the Yu Garden and Jade Temple. We also really enjoyed the views of the Bund. Our guide, Summer, was so sweet and considerate. She shared a lot of interesting facts and answered our questions. This was a great experience, my guide Penny was excellent, very knowledgeable and nice, and when Shanghai tower wasn’t viable due to weather she knew somewhere else to go to still get a view. She even helped me book a lift back to the airport! Would absolutely recommend.

I had a fantastic private car tour experience in Shanghai with Shanghai Melody Tours, thanks to my exceptional guide, Sophie. Her insights into the city and her knowledge of its neighborhoods made the tour both educational and enjoyable. For example, I initially planned to visit the Shanghai Museum in People’s Square, but Sophie recommended the newer Shanghai Museum in Pudong, which offered more exhibits and became one of the highlights of my trip. Additionally, she recommended restaurants near my hotel at which I had some of the best traditional meals I enjoyed during my stay China. Sophie’s planning skills were also impressive, as she secured tickets in advance for Shanghai Tower while we were touring the museum, making the visit seamless and efficient. Although we started the tour a bit late, Sophie ensured I received my full tour time and even extended our time a little. She helped me capture wonderful memories by taking lots of photos during the tour. After the tour, she was happy to drop me off wherever I needed, adding to the convenience. Overall, Sophie’s expertise and enthusiasm made exploring Shanghai a delight. I highly recommend Shanghai Melody Tours for anyone looking to discover Shanghai!

This was the perfect half day tour of Shanghai. Penny was punctual, communicative, and provided great historical background and information about Shanghai. It was perfectly timed so that we were able to see the French Concession, the Bund, the Yew Garden, and the Shanghai Tower while taking a break for an authentic meal. We would recommend this tour very highly.
